HD TiVOs Begin Shipping

Representatives at TiVo Inc. on Friday said that the high-definition version of TiVo, sold through The DirecTV Group Inc., has finally begun shipping.

In January, TiVo, Santa Clara, said that the DirecTV HD DVR would ship by the end of the first quarter. The box contains a 250-Gyte hard disk drive capable of storing 30 hours of high-definition video, and is priced at $999, according to a TiVo representative.
