java aint too bad,it sure is a hell of alot better than the ms java, java is needed these days,it may be big and somewhat slow but atleast it works.

The whole thing about Java being slow is just a myth. Java is the language, and there is no speed associated with it.

The interesting part is that people who are against Java are usually the ones who aren't that familiar with it, or are to entrenched in the bull**** produced by a certain vendor.

It's one of those necessary evils that we have here at work. Not that it is a bad product, but it certainly has its quirks along the way. It would also be nice if Sun would put the option (command line would be fine) to do an uninstall/upgrade of old versions instead of just leaving the old versions on the machine. I know some apps may need specific versions of Java installed, but having that option to only have the latest version installed would be a big plus.

Are you stupid? Are you aware that many large scale systems these days are written in Java? Why do people just come into news posts and say really stupid stuff? It bewilders me how dumb and uninformed people are these days.
