This SP3 is giving me a bug (i guess), it shows a red ICON and says that the ACTIVE DEFENSE is not active, when i open the main window it says everything is OK. Anyone experienced this ?

could you share more?
1, while install Kingsoft Antivirus, is there any other antivirus software installed?
2, does the red icon appear after a fresh install of the Kingsoft antivirus?
3, while you open the GUI of the software, could the issue recover?

1- While i was installing KINGSOFT i had only the native WINDOWS DEFENDER (windows 8) and when you install another antivirus (like KINGSOFT), it automatically disable itself.
2- Yes, the RED ICON appeared after a fresh install (i uninstalled SP2 and did a fresh install of SP3 because i'm on a slow network, i like downloading major updates and do a fresh install, i have even re-installed Windows 8 fresh and the first thing i did was instaling SP3 and it's the same problem)
3- When i open the GUI of the software, it lists that everything is OK and running but when it's minimized in tray, it says that the active defense is OFF.

I hope that's enough to make you notice the problem, i like your ANTIVIRUS but i have uninstalled it because of this bug, i'm waiting for an SP4 or something like that to fix it.

Another thing, when i was on SP2 it worked perfectly in the same OS on the same machine so it's not coming from my end.

This antivirus for me crashed and locked up the 2 times I installed on different machines. It was not worth the headache. Avira or Comodo are better.

If it has improved I would be willing to try one final time. I always hear Avast is the best free antivirus but twice I installed it slowed my machine down and just felt clunky. I am on Win 7 Pro 64-bit. Is Avast better now?

No man, it's not better, u can use this one or PANDA CLOUD and you're good to go.

So has any one used this or installed it on someone's PC yet? I thankfully do not need to use A/V on any of my PC's but often have to do this for clients, would be interesting to know if something like this is good or not!

It's a fantastic peace of software, i used to have AVAST but i think it's getting bloated so this one is the best i've use yet, especially if you are installing it on other people's PCs. It'll update itself, it's very light on resources so they don't have to worry.
