Leaked press images reveal Nokia Lumia 1020 in all its glory

Is there anything left for Nokia announce today? The launch of its Lumia 1020 flagship is now just hours away, but after weeks of endless leaks - and even seeing its full spec sheet laid bare yesterday - it seems that Nokia will be left with few surprises to reveal at the event.

The latest leak comes via The Verge, which has got its hands on a set of press images showing off the device from all angles. As previous reports indicated, there are only three colour options to choose from - black, white and yellow.

The handset looks thinner than it apparently is - at 10.4mm, it's only slightly slimmer than the Lumia 920 with which it shares its good looks, but a bit chunkier than the aluminium-bodied Lumia 925.

The Lumia 1020 is believed to weigh in at 158g, considerably lighter than the 920's 185g, but a bit heavier than the 925's 139g.

The camera is of course the star of the show, with a 41MP sensor, along with Xenon flash for photos and an LED flash for videos. Nokia is underlining the camera's capabilities through a new 'Pro Camera' app, featuring more granular options and settings than the default Windows Phone app, along with an optional 'Camera Grip' accessory (seen in the image above), which features a universal tripod mount and its own battery.

The Lumia 1020 is expected to include a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor and 2GB of RAM - more than any other Windows Phone - along with 32GB of onboard storage. A 64GB version will apparently be offered exclusively on Telefónica's networks in Europe and Latin America.

WP should move much faster, much faster than what?? iOS that took twice the time to include the same stuff, only thing really missing big from WP is a central notification center (which appeared in iOS 6 i think), and for spec whores, quad core and full hd support i think. Ive seen people that say other phones only have 13megapixel but snapdragon 800 supports upto 50mpx. but you could slap a 50 mpx camera in but if the SENSOR is rubbish, its going to take rubbish shots. Cant polish a turd. This thing is amazing, theyve bin working on this tech for years its not someat theyve slapped together alot of r+d has gone into it so ppl saying oh its bigger, its 41mpx 6 zeiss lenses (which my photographer friend says there one of the best in the world) OIS everything, its not going beat a dslr or whatever but in a phone. This beast is packing and the haters will always hate

Although i do agree having carrier exclusives is pretty stupid as its halting the uptake but i dont understand why its happening unless carriers offering money to make it exclusive, but even still it shouldnt be like that

For those who Instagram, FB and other Social things daily this is YOUR phone!

To have a 41MP sensor fit into a 10.4mm body which is thinner and lighter than the 920 is a an incredible technical achievement.

It's easy to build big but it takes a lot of engineering to build small and provide BIG.

It looks like the White is not coming in the Glossy body which is a good thing. They need to move away from that because it feels cheap comparatively speaking.

I hate the fact that the 64GB is a European Exclusive though. I have always purchased the largest internal memory available.

To me, the hardware is there MS just needs to ramp up the release / update rates on the OS. Things seems to take forever which is not good when you are playing catch up.

why ? it's no slower than the competition on major releases. an it's certainly a lot faster with smaller bug fixes than the competition.

Nokia is moving MUCH faster than MSFT is. If MSFT would ramp up WP would advance at a much faster rate which would be good.

Nokia has to release basically the same hardware with improvements relatively fast in succession now to keep the momentum going while they could be making much bigger steps at a lightly longer interval if MSFT joined in..

"Is there anything left for Nokia announce today?"

Well, it seems that the cry for an official Instagram app has silenced lately, however when I spoke to a Microsoft senior director on an airplane recently, he said: "trust me, Instagram _is_ coming". So it actually wouldn't surprise me if today comes with this loong awaited release.. :-)

41 MP sensor which is huge physically and yet it is lighter then Lumia 920, that is a technical achievement by Nokia. Even though Qi based charging is removed, it won't be missed much right now at this time.

I own a Lumia 920 and although it is good, I am craving for Lumia 295 due to its weight and thinness. Seems like Lumia 1020 will be an awesome mid ground. Awesome camera with a optimized OS.
