Microsoft job offer hints at Office for iOS (again)

Back in February we reported on another Office related rumor courtesy of The Daily, who published a screenshot of the Office Suite running on an iPad, which at the time Microsoft called fake. The Daily also said that Microsoft Office for Android and iOS was already completed and would be released on November 10th.

Now, 9to5Mac is reporting that Microsoft is seeking a software engineer to work with the Outlook team and test what Microsoft calls:  “Microsoft’s next move on the Mac and on iOS.” which seems to indicate that Outlook - at the very least - for iOS could become a reality.

While it isn't proof that an Office suite will be released for iOS, it does seem to indicate the possibility.

MacRumors also points out that Microsoft already has several other iOS apps, such as SkyDrive and OneNote among others, but this job listing doesn't indicate that testing in those areas would be required.

I really like this strategy MS. Put all this software like Office on iOS and make it a real competitor in the productivity market YEAH!!!! Very Very smart given how Apple deliberately made iTunes crap on Windows so people would see how smooth it ran on its native OSX and switched. If MS is this stupid then they derserve to get a fricken kick up the a**. FOCUS ON YOUR OWN OS IDIOTS!!!!

Apple will never allow a full blown email client with its own engine code, just use Sparrow as an example, they got twitchy about allow push mail.

or, they could release it as a standalone product like they did with OneNote, or even market it as "NewMail for iOS"

Yes anything to stop junk mail. The existing mail app is no good at detecting junk mail. Users need more choice with email apps for Ipad much like web browsers.

I never get junk mail - ever. Maybe it's just because I'm using Hotmail, which has a great filter.

yeah, it's really amazing: when I use Hotmail I have 0 junk mail, but when I use GMail I have hundreds in my junk folder and thousands in my inbox O.O (but, to be fair, it's not like there's any real spam in my Hotmail junk folder either, except for the occasional Rick Santorum email Hotmail automatically sends there along with a note explaining how it could harm me if I opened it )

Is the upcoming Microsoft office for iPad likely to contain outlook for Ipad? If so it would be handy because there's currently no proper email client for Ipad that contains the antispam folder.
