Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?

I just can't wait for so many things now... Windows Vista, new drivers for Vista, Office 2007, Nintendo Wii, PS3 (I won't buy it, but I want to see it). Also waiting for Alan Wake for Vista.

I'm even waiting for new PC parts to be shipped to me this week. (My PC hasn't been upgraded since 2002, so imagine the excitement)

Maybe I won't be able to handle that much and I'll end in a mental facility. :cheeky:

Office 2007 Enterprise DVD iso was on Select earlier today, but its now been pulled. Not sure why. Seems like Office and Vista follow each other in being posted and then pulled a few hours later!

Since when did a product being only 99% complete ever stop MS from shipping it?
IE7 for example...

How dare you say anything negative about our sweet Microsoft ! Do you think you could do better ? tTey deserve alot of credit and our money.

DON'T INSULT VISTA

At the time of RTM IE7 had much more bugs than Vista 2 months before RTM.

Wow, take it easy... it's not like Vista is your baby or something.
I think the OP was only joking about it. However, the OP does have a point.(joking)

I hope you're right, but I guess we'll only know this after RTM, when everybody starts to use (or mess) with it...

Amazing how long it has taken for Microsoft to get to this point with Vista. I bet the Vista team will be extremely happy to finally get Vista out of the door.

To be honest if the RC's are anything to by (and the sheer amount of extra content that will be needed to make Ultimate worth the purchase) the Vista team aint going to be taking any holiday for a little while longer yet!

Huh? Microsoft will let them have a big break come RTM. Then they'll wheel them back in to bgin work on service pack 1 or the next Windows. Why would you think MS would keep the employees working on a product thats already being produced???

um, because they've only got a month or two left before people actually are buying computers that USE Vista, and they'll need to have as much of the fixes/drivers patched for initial download (or slipstreamed by OEM) as possible by then.

In MS land, RTM means "good enough to hand off to installers for now" (<500 bugs), not "perfect, ready to use by anyone/everyone".
