Microsoft unveils white Xbox One, 1TB bundles and more

Microsoft took to the stage in Germany today to announce many new features coming to the Xbox One including bundles, software updates and a bunch of exclusive games. For starters, those of you who live in Europe, a new FiFA 15 bundle will be released later this that incudes the game and the console but the standard 500GB HDD.

The company has also announced a new bundle bringing together Sunset Overdrive and more importantly, the long-awaited white Xbox. We’ve seen leaked images and heard a lot of rumors regarding the white Xbox One but until now it hadn’t been officially unveiled.

Now, however, the white Xbox One, with white controllers obviously, has finally been shown off. On the inside the device is exactly the same as its black counterpart but the white glossy finish does bring something new to the table.

The white Xbox One will be available this fall bundled with Sunset Overdrive for $399, meaning buyers will essentially get a free game with the console.

On top of this Microsoft also announced a special Call of Duty Xbox bundle that brings a new version of the console to market. This new version comes with a 1TB hard drive and some customized decals, but it doesn’t have any other defining features other than that.

The Call of Duty Xbox bundle will hit markets with a price tag of $499.

Urrm... that isn't "Leaked image of the white Xbox One", that's the well-known "I made this" Xbox One given to the Xbox Team at Microsoft.

Yeah that is the first thing I noticed. It says "I MADE IT" right there on the front!

Engadget has the pictures and it looks exactly the same just without the "I made this"

damn! I have a black TV so this won't match

Personally I'd prefer a bigger internal drive than having an external (another box and mains cables to tidy)

1TB external drives come in very small form factors with no need for a power supply. I hooked one up to my XB1 and its a very tidy setup.

oh yeah I forgot about the passport drives, good call

What, no mention of the last announcement at the keynote? :) The ability to download and pre-stage games before their release date so you can start playing them as soon as they launch.

they're saving that for another article

Exactly, you're free to use an external drive of any size now, and not just one, once that one is full you can switch over to a second or third one.

yeah it supports usb 3. I've read online that the external hard drive is actually faster than the internal since MS went with SATA2 instead of SATA3 for the connection.
