Microsoft's Outlook.com, SkyDrive and People services experiencing issues [Update]

If you have had issues this morning with checking into your Outlook.com account, you are not alone. Many users of Microsoft's web email service are reporting they have had problems signing into their accounts, and others have not been able to view content even if they manage to sign into their accounts.

Other users are experiencing the same problems accessing SkyDrive and Microsoft's People services as well and are reporting their own issues on Twitter:

Microsoft's Twitter support account has already posted that it is aware of the Outlook.com issues.

This latest problem comes just 15 days after some users experienced similar issues when signing into their Outlook.com account.

Update: The Live status page shows that the SkyDrive and People services are back up and running but some users might still not be able to access their Outlook.com emails.

Update 2: The status page now says that Outlook.com access has been restored but there are still issues with mobile devices that can't sync emails. Also, SkyDrive users may have issues with getting notification emails on time.

Thanks to Neowin reader Nicholas for the tip

I had to force email update on my WP7 (was nagging about one of the mailserver certificates), but on my Surface Pro it's all dandy again.

Never had any issues with Skydrive, or logging into Outlook.com for that matter.

It has been down all day. Damn, I hate this. I hope they sort this out asap. Still have them as my fave!

Here I thought switching my domains to Windows Live Domains would be a good trial before likely signing up for Office 365..

I didn't need my business email today.

(Yes I know now it was ultimately stupid to trust my business email to a free service. Oddly, this DIDN'T happen when it was attached to Google domains.)

with businesses moving towards the cloud, this can happen to all the other parties as well.
Name any cloud/internet based service, and it's prone to outage.

Best solution is still to have your important stuff saved locally, and stuff that needs to be accessible everywhere uploaded to the cloud as well.

I understand that, but I was also affected by the outage a few weeks ago.

While I was with Google Apps, it did have issues, but I was lucky in that they never affected my domains, which was awesome.

I moved my ecosystem to the Microsoft brand to try it out in advance of signing up to Office365. I replaced Google Drive with Skydrive and so on. These past few weeks has just opened my eyes to the fact MS will likely not be where my business lands.

Just checked their status page...seems everything is up now but Outlook. Man I wish they could have fixed Outlook first lol. Oh well, hopefully it comes back soon.

Same, I got in for a few minutes then down again, my sync with my iPhone is still down as well.

It looks like even EAS is down as the outlook 2013 and email on android can't connect.

Has been down for me all day but looks like it's back up for me. Only tried outlook.com.

Still appears mobile connectivity from my Lumia 920 to Outlook.com is still down.

I need to download something from Skydrive and I can´t. Next time I´ll think twice on saving my files in the cloud.

Always glad to tip my favorite news site- I now see they've added an update from 11 minutes ago stating that they hope to have an update out by 2pm (Eastern).

Outages never have good timing. Microsoft does a promo to uplift SkyDrive and Skype usage, and the next day their services are down for many. Bummer.

Same issue over here. At first I thought it was me, as I added some mailaccounts in outlook.com and the Mail app.... ;-)

We'll wait patiently until it is fixed....

Works fine here (from Malta). Guess it is some regional issue on their part. On a side note, where is that service status page located?
