Neowin Giveaway: iPad 2 + Vonage 'Time to Call' credits - Winner Announced

Vonage has recently announced their new app, “Time to Call”. This app takes a different approach to making long distance calls and reduces many barriers in the process. To help promote their new app, Vonage has given Neowin an iPad 2 to give away to one of our readers and free calling credits too.

Posted below is the video about the new app which Neowin will be reviewing in the coming weeks; after we get a chance to put it through some stress testing. Before we get to that review, the video below gives a quick overview of the new service.

Why is Vonage and Neowin giving away an iPad 2? Well, Vonage could have just given away a bunch of iTunes gift cards to promote their new product, but you need to have an iOS device to use the new app (Android version coming soon). To make sure the winner is guaranteed to be able to use the new service, Vonage is giving out an iPad 2 as well to make sure the winner can use the new product.

So, you want to win the iPad 2 and calling credits? It’s relatively simple to enter and the best part is that it is open to everyone. There are no restrictions other than being able to receive a package from a postal service. There are two ways to enter this contest:

Entry Method 1:

Post a comment below saying what you would use the iPad 2 and Vonage “Time to Call” app for. Would you call a relative who lives overseas, or order Chinese food…from China? Let us know how you could use this awesome prize package.

Entry Method 2:

The other way to enter this contest is to re-tweet this story, but, you must add the hashtag #Timetocall in the tweet as well as @neowinfeed so we can track your entry.

The contest will run until August 17 at 11:59 PM EST and the winner will be contacted and posted in this thread when selected and confirmed.

You can enter once per day using each of the above methods, for a total of two entries per 24hr period.  Good luck to all who enter!

You can learn more about the Vonage 'Time to Call' app by going here or downloading directly from iTunes. There are also a total of 75 websites giving away an iPad 2, you can check them all out here: callsfromsmartphone.com

Congrats to our Winner - Greg Alto (Twitter)!

I would use the iPad 2 for various reasons, but particularly for school and taking notes! I have been in need of a tablet with many great functions and this fits my situation. Vonage I would use to stay in contact with my brother in Kansas with his iPad1!

Please Neowin I really need this for school, it would make my life way easier!

Second entry: I am a freelance web designer who deals with clients throughout the world. I'm also a college student who's strapped for cash, so any bit helps. This would be a great way to deal with client calls.

My brother is a international flight pilot and this would help me be able to talk to him when he is gone on flights out of the country.

I'd use Vonage's "Time to Call" to talk my aunties and cousins in Vietnam, and I'd call my Grandma in Cambodia! International calling gets so expensive, definitely super unreliable and uber unclear. I'd also call friends in Canada whom I don't get to talk to enough! In the long run, I'd use to talk to clients for my dress designs.... but thats in the far future.

Hope, I win, cant wait to play with iPad and international calling. To be honest, I'll probably play with iPad more. But, Good luck everyone!

I would use it to call my friends while they are on vacation to various countries throughout the year and then to call home when I am on vacation.

I would use the Vonage "Time to Call" to call my sick grandmother in England, who I now only get to talk to every couple of weeks due to the cost.

i would like to use it to call my family in the philippines, it would be nice to keep in touch, and using the iPad would be useful at school, doing online work on the go, since i don't have a laptop, it would be awesome if i win!

I'd use the Vonage “Time to Call” app to talk to my brother when he travels overseas & I also have a friend who lives in Germany I would talk to. (:

I would use it to keep in touch with <sibling, parent, etc...> in <some far off country> because I haven't seen them in DECADES.....

I would use it to surf porn all day.... <---what most post really mean

I will use it to call my long lost momma who lives 100 miles away yet I never get to see her due to our demanding travel schedules....

I would use it to make my tech life alot easier by allowing me to contact those high level techs for advice and how to make a living.

Final entry... 4 entries out of like 800 lol.
I'd use it to call friends that have been studying abroad.

Also, congrats to whoever wins!

I would use it to call my relatives in
vietnam. I recently lived there for a couple months and miss them dearly now that i am back in the states

I would use it to call my relatives in
vietnam. I recently lived there for a couple months and miss them dearly now that i am back in the states

I would use it to call long-distance relatives I don't get to see as often as i'd like to. Thanks for doing this!

Basically like everyone else I would use it to stay in touch with family. My daughter could do face time with her grandparents since they have an ipad2 as well.

Id use the ipad2 to call my Uncle in CA... he can show me the pacific ocean since ive never been off of the East Coast..

I would use mine to communicate with my father, who isn't computer savvy in any way, shape, or form. (I currently have no phone other than g-mail)

yeey one more shot for me! I'd make sweet calls to my cousin living in Australia! Now that's a long distance call i'd say...

My girlfriend lives in another state, in the meantime before she moves in i would use time to call from vonage to call her everyday and share the ongoings of our daily lives.

In addition to my previous statement I would use it to also call my friend who will be spending a month in the UK. It would certainly save some serious money!!

In adition to my previously stated reasons for what I would do with this app and ipad is to make my friend call mr once a dag while he's in camp simcha and I would use the ipad for school.

i Would use it on holidays, so i can call cheap to people who are at home and that i need at the moment.

Also will using it to call friends that are on Holiday.

Promising app ;-) hopefully it soon will be released for android (like said in the video), because i can use it on my phone then ;-)

Entry #4 ( + 1 twitter entry)

Hopefully i win ;-)

I'd use it to help keep my friendships in Korea and New Zealand, etc. And more frequently, I'd use it as a normal phone service if possible.

I would use this to call my Grandma and Uncle that live in Hong Kong, I live in Texas. Because plane tickets to Hong Kong aren't cheap, my family hasn't been able to see or talk to my relatives in Hong Kong in many years.

My uncle is actually the head of an iPod and iPhone accessory making department at his job (The last time I checked, like 5 years ago), I don't know if he does iPad accessories but it sure would cool if he does. If he doesn't I would probably send the iPad 2 to him, if he does, I would buy some of his companies accessories and try them out.

I would finally be able to call my parents who live in the UK when I wanted to, rather than emailing them and asking them to call me.

I would give it to my parents because they are moving far away next year, and thanks you my own iPad and this price we could keep in touch almost as if we still were together.

Final entry - I would use it for for planning flights in my Cessna, and calling to make arrangements with the airport fix based operators for travel and information about the airport I am planning to land at, plus hotel and transportation after arriving.

I would love to receive this as my girlfriend will be moving to France and then to Spain in september, it would be perfect to be able to speak to her with ease. I also have godparents in both Holland and Italy that I do not get to speak to very often, and I would love the opportunity to talk to them again.

I would use it to call my brother over seas, as posted before..

luck be with me on this day.. for I shall take the prize!! =x

Entry 2

I'm about to fly to China, Qingdao to study mandarin for a year. I'm going to be leaving my family and girlfriend of 3 years behind in England. I applied for a scholarship to study out there but was unfortunately rejected, so i'm having to pay for the flights, tuition and of course the cost of living. I've had to sell my first iPad and other electronics to fund this trip. By having an iPad 2 with Vonage would be a godsend; it'll save me so much money contacting my family, friends and girlfriend in England. It'll just make my life a bit more easier out there.

Well, I would use the Vonage time to call some friends stationed overseas, and my brother in Afghanistan. I would honestly probably see if I could also send the iPad 2 to my brother over there as well, as it wouldn't see much use with me, but I'm sure he'd be ecstatic to receive one while on deployment. Would sure beat my last gift to him, some beef jerky and a couple bags of doritos.

Third and final entry. ^_^
Good luck to everyone!

I would use Time to Call to call my grand-mother-in-law who lives overseas so that my wife's parents could talk to her anytime they want.

After I'm done using it to let my kids talk to my brother in Korea, I'm going to use it to call you, Neobond, to thank you for me finally winning something here!

i would use it to call relatives in the philippines, but i would use the iPad even more for school work, i don't have a laptop, and i can't pay for one, or even an iPad, my older brother is still in college so my parents have to pay for most of his tuition, and he didn't get a scholarship either for his school, boulder, so i would like to use the iPad to benefit me in my school work to at least improve my work (because i cant do any on the go), and help get me a scholarship, please! it would mean so much to me, and i could call my filipino relatives to show them how far I've come

Let me win this as I don't have a tablet or a decent phone and I'll use Vontage credits to call my friends & relatives abroad and my brother who is studying in another state. I need this badly.

I would use the iPad 2 as a replacement to my heavy notebook and the Vonage app to call a friend in Europe.

Third attempt at winning lol.
I'd play a whole lot of Angry Birds on that iPad!
...and you know, make a ton of long distance calls...

This is an easy one...I would use the iPad and the Vonage app to help my grandmother (who is 86) to talk to her relatives in Germany. She can't really use a phone very well anymore so the iPad would be a great alternative!! Thanks!!

I would like to win for two reasons

1) To talk with family who live away from me
2) Because I like to win stuff (admittedly not the most convincing of reasons...)

I would like to win for two reasons:

1) Because I like to win things
2) To make long distance calls to family.

I would like to win for two reasons:

1) Because I like to win things
2) To make long distance calls to family.

I'd probably use it to prank call random takeaways around the world.
Domino's Pizza in Mumbay, India would be first on my list..

I'd use it to call Steve Jobs and sing "Liar, liar, pants on fire"...
Because lying in a court is not pretty.

My brother is a international flight pilot and this would help me be able to talk to him when he is gone on flights out of the country.

I'd use the Vonage “Time to Call” app to talk to my brother when he travels overseas & to talk to my friend who lives in Germany. (:

I would use it to call my family that lives in Bern, Switzerland. We love to chat and talk to each other almost every week, this would help so we could talk more often!!

I would use it to keep in touch with my sister and california as well as the rest of my family since I frequently travel up and down the east coast for work.

I would use Vonage Call to call my best friend that is moving to Australia in a month! We've been best friends for 15 years and we have never been apart, I'm going to miss her terribly! But with Vonage we can still talk everyday! Not to mention she has an iPad, so we can facechat! How perfect!

I will use the voyage time to call credits to keep in touch of my relatives in Hong Kong and I would use the iPad 2 as another method of trying to keep in touch aswell as using voyage to call my relatives in Hong Kong and I will use the iPad 2 for my friends who are in Afghanistan so we can keep in touch of each other incase and I hope not but if they do die I will have some final memories :'( .

P.S I hope you see this and I hope you can ship it to the UK!

Well..... I'd first call my aunt overseas in New Jersey, then I'd have to call my grandmother in Venezuela. After that I would say hello to my cousin in Hong Kong, to later greet my uncles in Canary Islands. Of course I'd use it to get in touch with my friend Takeo in Hokkaido. The next thing in my list would be talking to my cousin Carlos in UK, and of course my old girlfriend Erica with whom I still have a true friendship, but I can't talk to her all I'd like because she lives in Torino where she works as a translator.

... It's no wonder I have trouble keeping up with my rent and loans payments!!

Idk if i should repost wat I said before so I'll say something new. The next thing I would do after what I stated previously is give the app over to my friend who (yes I swear I'm telling the truth here), has a muscle disorder. It's very mild and can kinda of talk kinda of walk and can eat small things in small proportion. He doesn't have a phone yet and he really wants on so IDE give this to him as a bar mitzvah gift.

I would call my parents as much as possible. I would also call friends and relatives abroad - you can't waste time not connecting with people.

i would use it to call my family in the philippines, they can't come to america, but as a student, the iPad would help me so much because my older brother is still in college, and my parents money is going into his tuition right now, while my money goes into mine, i don't have money and i don't have a laptop, so doing work anywhere besides home is impossible, it would mean so much if i get this iPad, and i could call my family in the Philippines and show them how far i have come

I would use the iPad to browse the web where a laptop is too impractical, and Vonage to call my family over-seas.

I would use it to contact my brother who will be in another country for the next 3 years at university, without charging my mobile so much

An IPAD - any IPAD - is a tool worthy of acquisition; an IPAD2, now that's something else! Use? To reach out to friends all over the world

I would actually use it for work. Unfortunately the company where I am working is not paying my bills but I still have to call our partners frequently. Also I could use it during meetings for taking notes and mailing.

Second entry - I would use it for for planning flights in my Cessna, and calling to make arrangements with the airport fix based operators for travel and information about the airport I am planning to land at, plus hotel and transportation after arriving.

Second attempt.. Anyways as i said before i need this so badly because it's so damn expensive to call my family from Australia to Cyprus.

I would use it to call long-distance relatives I don't get to see as often as i'd like to. Thanks for doing this!

The majority of family and friends live abroad in Australia and Iran. Have recently moved to England so any contact is appreciated.

I would use it to keep in touch with <sibling, parent, etc...> in <some far off country> because I haven't seen them in DECADES.....

I would use it to surf porn all day.... <---what most post really mean

Since I'm a college student, I would use it to take notes in the class and do my homework. Also, I would use it to call my uncle in France and have a facetime with him.

I'd probably use it to prank call random takeaways around the world.
Domino's Pizza in Mumbay, India would be first on my list..

I would use this to keep in touch with my Mom and Stepfather. It would be simpler and easier for them to use, and allow then easy access to me and the kids, and would be easier to use then trying to call them when they are in the hospital, and dealing with the operators there.

I would use it to keep in touch with my family in Kansas, as well as my extended family, which is a bit more scattered. I would also use it to stay in contact with my long-time friends, some of which are at great distances all over the country.

I am a senior who doesn't want to have a mobile phone. My Life Long Learning school has free wifi as does my local library. I would use these to keep in touch by e mail and calls with my brother who is retiring soon and may be going anywhere any time.

I'd use it to help keep my friendships in Korea and New Zealand, etc. And more frequently, I'd use it as a normal phone service if possible.

I would use it to call my relatives. They all live in different cities than me, an I only have a cell phone so long distance calling can be a bit pricey

I'd give it to my wife's aunt and uncle in Houston so that my mother-in-law could talk to her sister, who has several medical issues.

macel said,
Don't believe the other guy, *I* would use it to call my family in Finland.

No, I'm Sparticus!

Wait, what are we talking about?

I would use the iPad 2 and Vonage “Time to Call” to call a relative who lives overseas and order Chinese food…from China.

I would give the iPad2 to my niece that's going to college. I then would use
my iPhone 4 to call her on the iPad2 every other day to keep her in the loop
on the latest info on family and friends.

Still would use it to call my brother while he's in Korea, he's in the US Air Force. He has an iPad 2, so we could also Face Time it up, my kids could see their uncle!

Second entry.

My family is all over the place. My parents are in Malaysia, my sister is in the Philippines, one of my brother is in the UK and the other one is in the Netherlands. I would call them every weekend and have us all conference. I miss them all.

Call my family in Cuba. We are only 100 miles away but calls to Cuba are very expensive, so in a few minutes we try to catch up as much as we can. It would be awesome to win

I'd use it to show my nan how awesome technology can be by calling our relatives in the US and all talking around the iPad on speaker.

I would call my relatives overseas who I see only once a year if lucky. I am the only one of my whole family here in the US.

I am a freelance web designer who deals with clients throughout the world. I'm also a college student who's strapped for cash, so any bit helps. This would be a great way to deal with client calls.

I would use this to call my in laws who are missionaries in the Philippines. I would also use it to keep in touch with my siblings who live on the other side of the US.

I would use te iPad 2 and Time to Call to call my family in Italy to not only allow myself to communicate with them, but to allow my Grandmother and Mother to communicate with their direct relatives there.

Need it/Want it so that i can make vonage calls to my Family in Colombia, well rather, my wife's family! She calls them all the time, and its quite quite expensive, but she loves her family, so please, help me!

I'd use it to stay in touch with my sister, nieces, and nephews who now live on the other side of the country and whom I miss terribly. It would also make contacting my customers soooooooooooo much easier.

I would use Time to Call to call my grand-mother-in-law who lives overseas so that my wife's parents could talk to her anytime they want.

I'd call legendary Welsh singer/songwriter Tom Jones and say "Hey Tom, I've just won an iPad 2 and some Vonage 'Time to Call' credits" and Tom would be like "Wow that's really great - congratulations! Bye!" and I'd say "Goodbye Tom!" and hang up.

This is awsome , It's so cheap to call over sea compares to other phone options ,
and with Ipad2 ...even better ..yeh ...
Good lucl all .

Nice, I would most likely do the long distance calls to relatives and maybe local calls based on the price

I would use this to talk with relatives in other parts of the country and friends in other parts of the world. It would be great!

ATTEMPT 2:- I would use the app & ipad 2 to call Steve Jobs and thank him for the great gift, then call Bill Gates to thank him and Microsoft for rescuing Apple all those years ago....!! In all seriousness I would call friends and family in the UK, France, USA, Canada and Australia that I rarely see and still keep in touch with via written letter and traditional postal service! Much love thanx guys :-D

I would call up my university mates who have scattered around the world to see if we can organise a meetup for a drink or two

I'm about to fly to China, Qingdao to study mandarin for a year. I'm going to be leaving my family and girlfriend of 3 years behind in England. Also will using it to call friends that are on Holiday.

Promising app ;-) hopefully it soon will be released for android (like said in the video), because i can use it on my phone then ;-)

Entry #3

I would use it to have a cheap way to contact customer support around the world instead of using emails that usually take too long.

i want to talk to my family in the philippines because i haven't seen them in forever, and i could use the iPad because i am a student without a laptop, and doing work on the go is impossible, my older brother is still in college and my money is going into my tuition, and my parents into my brother's, i have no money, winning this iPad would mean so much to me, and can show my family in the philippines how far i have come

I would use it to call my family in MA while I work in OR. As well as my parents and sister on the East Coast.

I would give the call away to a service wife whose spouse is deployed overseas. The iPad would make it so much easier for me to keep up on all of my social networks!

I would definitely use it to call my dad who has ran away from the country due to some financial thing that he had =/ kinda sucky experience but well would do well..

Sometimes my son travels out of the country for conferences (Mexico and other places) and this would help me to more easily call him.

My brother is a international flight pilot and this would help me be able to talk to him when he is gone on flights out of the country.

I would use it for for planning flights in my Cessna, and calling to make arrangements with the airport fix based operators for travel and information about the airport I am planning to land at, plus hotel and transportation after arriving.

I would use it to call my relatives in Greece and all the college buddies who've moved across the U.S. since we left college.

Having this would help da wife keep in touch with her family in Colombia! nothing helps a marriage better than a happy wife! so please HELP ME, help her! LOL

Now that I think of it, I don't even use home phone at all anymore. This app would just enhance my calling experience from a devices which I carry with me.

i Would use it on holidays, so i can call cheap to people who are at home and that i need at the moment.

Also will using it to call friends that are on Holiday.

#another entry

I would use the Vonage “Time to Call” app to talk to my brother when he travels overseas & also to talk to a a friend that lives in Germany.

I'd use them to invent an awesome application that runs on a tablet and than call the most reasonable angel investor (using the Vonage application) about financing my world domination plan.

I will prank call people around the world instead of just locally. This would save me money on my international pranking bill.

I would use this to talk to my 2 year old son who I work away from a lot doing consulting work. It would be nice to keep in touch as every time I see him he seems to have learned so many new words and grows constantly.

Nice giveaway. I will use it to communicate to my sister and brother-in-law who are in middle east. Hope to win this time.

If I was to win, I would give the iPad 2 to my mother, with its larger screen she would be able to see it better and be able to use it more easily than a smartphone.
The app would become usefull for the both of us, as (hopefully) I'll be accepted into the Army soon, as she would be able to keep in contact with me. Either way, win or lose, I'm still going to be checking this app out.

My father who is in poor health as of late, and my mother who just as bad live back in Russia, even though I have gotten them visas to move to the United States so I can take care of them, they refuse to leave the home they have owned since before I was born. I would immediately send the iPad to them and call my brother who still lives in Russia to help them set up wifi and teach them how to Facetime with myself, my wife, and their grand-daughter who they have only seen a few times, and I send them a bunch of photos and a DVD once a month for them to watch of Elizaveta,

The only reason I would send this iPad as they vehemently refused to allow myself or other of my siblings to purchase anything expensive for them since I paid for the house that they've owned all these years to be fixed so it didn't collapse

I will certainly use it to stay in touch with a long time friend that is now living in France and ironicly has been hired by Apple as a "formateur" !

I will use to stay in touch with my friend and relatives through out the world which helps to improve the communication methods. Really it is a beautiful app to use.

When at home lying on the couch watching TV I'll be lazy to pick up the phone and the iPad will probably be in my Hand, so Ill use it cozI some times I become too lazt

use it to melt the snow around my house! and #Timetocall to show family over seas to show what happening here in NZ, wonder if @neowinfeed ever played in snow!!

Honestly? I have no amazing reason like sons/daughters in the army, or a Korean family. But I'd use it to keep in touch with my girlfriend who also got an iPad recently.

Wouldn't mine the iPad but if I won I would use it to ring my family in Australia that i can only see over webcam once a month.

Good luck everyone

Hmmm...not beeing a fan of Apple in general I don't really know how I would use it. I think mainly as a GPS if it has one embedded. For calling oversees ... don't think so. It's expensive for me, you can use Skype or others for that.

I would use it to call my sister who lives in SC and I live in IL. I'd also use it to call my mom in IN and my friend in Croatia.

Living in Norway at the moment, and i come from England, and my sister lives in Canada, so international calling is part of my life.

Neowin <3

I would use this to call the White House, my Congressman, and other Representatives to find out why they don't want to work on a jobs agenda in Congress.

We have 14mil Americans out of work, and there isn't a single jobs related bill or any real plan to get people back to work.

That's what I'd do.

T

I probably would use it to give a call to friends/family who live in Europe.

But I guess won't do that because I never win anything.

I'd probably use it to prank call random takeaways around the world.
Domino's Pizza in Mumbay, India would be first on my list..

I'd call Steve Jobs and told him that I got an iPad for free. And then I would tell him to lower the prices of i-products.

i would first use the ipad for my computer science course i am starting soon it would help me alot i need something more portable then a laptop/netbook but bigger then a phone to take to class to help me with some issues.... and then i would use the app to call a girl in america who i have had a hard time talking and i miss her voice so much and i know she misses mine also the app would allow easier correspondence with my family in Australia + america who i have spoken to less then 20 times in my life due to the barriers....

I would use this primarily to communicate with my daughter, who spends most of her time upstairs in her room reading and singing. Her door is locked and is very sturdy.

I would for sure use this app to do multiple things. Such as yes order Chinese food from china just cause that's awesome. Number two, call and convince one of the Israeli yeshivas to give mr free admission to learn for a year. And finally I would call my friend in Canada from my cell phone and not whe I'm at home!

I would use it to keep in touch with my sister who is off in college, while I attend a different college 4 hours away.

I would be use it to call my relatives in the Middle East countries & my brother and cousin who are studying outside our state. I don't have any tablet or a decent smartphone. So this would be great if I win!

getting a new network admin job and i would use it to log my servers and contact our compaines in New York and Miami. Also RDP would be easy.

The iPad would be great for all my everyday use and the Vonage stuff would be useful to call friends from college that are all out of town.

I would use iPad 2 and Vonage “Time to Call” app to relatives out of state and a friend that lives out of country.

I would use the iPad 2 and Vonage “Time to Call” app for calling the police on my annoying neighbor! Good luck all.

I'm going to the university this fall and I will live near the university which is far from my town. So it's could be nice to have a simple way to communicate with my family and my friend . The Vonage package would break the long distance fee to call and would be more affordable for my Budget !

I would give the iPad 2 to my great grandfather and and I would probably call my old friend in Okinawa japan.

Nothing creative in my post. Just an honest answer.

I would use the iPad 2 to takes notes in class, and use it for eTextbooks/eBooks. I would also use the Vonage calls credits to call my Grandparents who live on the other side of the country.

I would use it to call my brother while he is in Korea, he is in the US Air Force. Also, today is my BDAY and all .. so nice present go me!

I'd use it to call that ghost upstairs that never stops banging about the house at night, just to tell him, i've bought him some slippers.

I would use the iPad 2 and Vonage “Time to Call” app for calling my nephew who is presently living in Japan. I miss him so much and would love to be able to talk to him.
Thanks so much.

I would use the iPad2 and Time To Call to contact my daughter who is currently in Europe. We do not have GSM phones so, instead she could use the iPad, wireless, and Time to Call so we could talk. I miss her. She is my youngest.

I'd call my relatives from the States and in China. My wireless provider apparently charges an arm and a leg on international calls outside North America.

I'd would do my final thesis about it. As a programmer, approaching different platforms, such as iOS, and showing how a good programmer can come up with such useful apps, like Vonage 'Time to Call', which is pratical, and cheap, would be the perfect jump start on my thesis. It would trully reveal what I want to do in the future, fulfilling my degree, and jump-starting me to success.
Who knows? Maybe if I win, it will be myapp + iPad 4 being offered in a few years =p

I would create a business based on it. Low cost calls all around the world. Come in and share the joy of talking to those who are far from you. Perfect. I'd offer cookies aswell.

I would call my family in Germany/Italy. Maybe if you guys could teach me Italian along with this new toy, I could talk to my Grandmother too.

iPad 2, movies/radio etc in bed as I don't have any type of electronic device in my bedroom.

Vonage i could use to call family for holidays

I would use it to help my wife call her parents in Colombia (we buy those $5.00 calling cards all the time), which she calls all the time..... Would be a great gift for her!

I would invent a time machine and call myself 6 months after i received the iPad2 and Vonage credits. I would then ask myself what the winning lotto numbers are for the next 6 months. I would then distribute all but one of the winning numbers to random people I met while walking my pet cat.

I could use an iPad2 because I don't have a mobile device yet. I'd use the time to call app to talk to my niece in Panama.

This would be a big help with homeschooling & staying in touch with family. Calling one of the fake Apple stores in China is also a great idea.

Also, since the app works on both ipad and iphone and all the stuff, it almost erases the need to bring both ipad and iphone sometimes when you travel. I'd personally just carry iPad with myself and call from it.

like I said before My family and I would use it to contact my brother that is stationed over in Iraq for the army for two years so he can hear and see his son grow up for the next two years and he can talk to the whole family and see his nieces grow up for the next two years.
And my sister inlaw would use it to keep in contact with him too.

This would make everyone feel a little bit calmer knowing that he is safe cause it can be weeks that we don't hear from him.

I would use it to call family in New Zealand, Australia and the Philippines, and get all the family in the UK to do the same!

I'd like to call my friends (who couldn't get tickets) from center camp at Burning Man, but I don't think I'd receive it before then I'll settle with calling my new international burner friends(meet some every year:) after we get back.

Aside from calling friends and family, could also use it to keep in contact with clients while using the tablet to keep track of their information.

Almost all of us have long distance regonal calling on cell phone but we need vonage time to call app to really save on long distance. I would call my favorite cousin in hawaii because I miss him

I have to be different than everyone here. I would use it to just prank call people for sure, just to say I prank called someone from an iPad2 for free with Vonage

With iPad 2 and the Time to Call app, I would use it to call relatives overseas. I also just LOVE technology and if I am too freakin; lazy to reach for my phone, I can use iPad to do my calling.

i would love this to call my family and friends who live across the ocean over 5800 km away, and whom i unfortunately cant visit enough often

Over the years ive made incredible friends that live long distances away and from different contries. The most noticeable is one of my best friends who lives in Canada, we have been in close contact for four years now yet are limited to instant messaging and emails. I hope this new app can breach the distance barrier and allow us to communicate properly after so long!

i would call all my friends overseas.. i havent seen or spoken to them in almot 7 years...I really would be refreshing to hear their voices again!!!

no more stupid contracts from telecommunications services that fools you with the international calls. VoIP is the best solution

With this I would call my girl friend in phillippines everyday and few freinds over sea ....
because it's so cheat with vonage "Time to call app" .
Good luck all .
Thanks Neowin giveaway .

I would use the "Time to Call" app to call my friends and relatives over in Germany. And then when I was in Germany, I would use it to call friends and family back in The States.

I would use it to speak to my brother, David, who lives back home with mum and suffers from down syndrome. I'm currently in the US, busy studying film for the next year and a bit, which means that getting to MSN or Skype to chat is difficult, so this would be great in my busy schedule and certainly ease the tension on my bank account.

I would first use to call my brother in Florida, then my cousins in Gautemala, then my friend in Japan, and finally my girlfriend in California. ALL FROM NEW JERSEY!

I never had a cell phone or a tablet PC before, so if I win the iPad 2 it'll be a good chance for me to learn about tablet PCs and the IOS.

Then I'll us it to keep it touch with mom. Also I'll try to make the best out of it as it will be the only portable PC I have.
