New WP8 Lumia devices to be announced on September 5th?

The 'Rumor mill' is always full or stories, but whether they are actually true or not is something we’ll find out in time, however, the most recent of these rumors indicates that Nokia will release two Lumia devices called the “Lumia 910” and the “Lumia 920”.

Lumia devices have been widely embraced by the Windows Phone community so it would make sense to release Windows Phone 8 – powered Lumia smartphones.

The rumor comes straight from WPDang, who have a great track-record with rumors turning out to be true. The site reports that Nokia plans to announce these two devices on the 5th of September. Additionally, the site was unable to confirm whether Nokia’s Pureview technology would be used.

Nokia’s recent acquisition of imaging company Scalado, proves that the company believes imaging is the selling point of future devices, so it’d be very strange for Nokia to not incorporate Pureview in what looks to be a set of flagship Windows Phone 8 devices.

They literally screw all their customers with their so called "you cant upgrade from 7.x to 8 because you have to buy a new phone for that. Yea, spend another 500 euros on a new phone"

The Lumia is getting 7.8 with continued support/updates/extra goodies. That's also a much bigger update than most Android phones on the market.

I don't see WP8 being ready by then... My guess is the hardware will be built on WP8 Chasis and will be released running WP7.5 or 7.8 and will be upgradable to WP8 upon the OS's release. Smart move, if that's their plan..

Smart move yeah. How about learning the difference between "announce" and "release"? That would be even smarter.

Ok smart guy. How bout you learn to read a little more. Sept 5 happens to be the date of Nokia World. Sept 7 is the date Nokia claims that "Something Amazing is Coming" (http://pocketnow.com/2012/07/1...sinki-store-on-september-7/) and I certainly dont think they'll be "announcing" something 2 days after their event, which means its LAUNCHING on the 7th. Nice try though tough guy.

We're certainly dealing with a future-seeing prophet right here. Now, also tell me the lottery numbers for next week, please.

Anyway, if you're sooo well informed, you obviously know that there were also rumors of Nokia getting WP8 code earlier than other vendors, and "something amazing" does not necessarily mean shiny new WP7.8 devices a few weeks before the WP8 launch. No, in fact that's only a stupid idea of yours, so don't blame Nokia for your crap.

PS: No, I don't give a damn about what you "think" and "guess". It just won't make things happen.

Hey genius, the article starts out with 3 words "THE RUMOR MILL." You want fact? Read another article and different comments. This one here is reserved for SPECULATION, so I'll GUESS and THINK all I want. Go troll elsewhere.

Yeah, yeah, stupid speculation.

I can speculate about Nokia building an A-bomb to nuke Google, it will make just as much sense as you with these stupid ideas right know.

You should just post a comment saying "last word" cause that's clearly your goal. There's no substance to anything you have to say, so go ahead. Get your last word in. I'm done humoring your childish posts.

I'm just waiting for a Nokia that doesn't have the audacity to promote Carl Zeiss on a crappy camera.

You should buy the Pureview 808 then.

I'm a technology freak, so I will get the next WinPho 8 no matter what. I sincerely hope the camera actually measures up this time. Lumia 900 is truly pathetic, and it hurts to say that, because I am a fan. I hear there is an update rolling out right now, so it will be very interesting to see what the "low light" fix actually accomplishes.

Ditching the droid the 920's going to be my new phone. Samsung can try, so can HTC but in the end Nokia still makes the best phones!

Then don't buy one.

Since we're posting random useless comments, here's mine.

WP8/Win8 devices will be the better choice in the long run (apart from iOS), IMO.

Just like the current Lumia's and WP7 was? Ah yes, Microsoft and their promises...lol

Currently have a HTC Titan but I am thinking this will be my last HTC for a while, their quality is just not what it used to be especially and I have massive problems with signal so I am thinking one of the New WP8 Lumias will be my future phone of choice.

Lumias have tons of problems too.

I just hope whatever comes out this year comes to Canada by November. I have a Lumia 800 and want a bigger screen.

I also have a Lumia 800 and looking forward for a Nokia Lumia with WP 8, and a bigger display, I just hope they will keep the same Lumia 800 design.
