Next Xbox One update brings improved Achievements

After showing off a number of new games as well as great re-releases, Microsoft is also announcing a new update destined to hit Xbox One consoles later this year.

One of the new features in the upcoming update is related to Achievements. The app is now getting its very own Snap mode so users can check their progress, find out new achievements and even search online on how to best get those Gs.

Up until now players checking their achievements app had to pause the game and basically switch apps which was never convenient. But now with Snap mode the experience will become much more fluid, without interrupting the game you’re playing.

We'll update this article as soon as more details become available.

I am boiling. I was hoping they would own up to all the bad design and fix the UI and make it usable. instead they announce a few "exclusivity" (who cares about exclusivity) and this ?
Is that it ? And they created all that buzz and noise for this ?

In what way is it not usable?

Calm down... They can't put all their eggs in 1 basket... They still have to have some ammo for Gamesconn and TGS....

Who reveals everything in 1 shot? Especially when the comp has yet to show their cards...

I have no issue with UI but I really hoped they at least address freaking voice command improvement. I couldnot use a single voice command since I bought it, doesn't matter I yell or speak clear and slow. it won't react to'XBOX' command. when its off you say 'XBOX On' and one out of 100 times it works.

E3 is about games. Further, if yours works that poorly it must be bad hardware, or you might not actually be speaking English to it. Mine works correctly > 95% of the time.

Is your room filled with noisy things (like an aquarium that's not topped off) or is your Kinect in front of your speakers?

Really... Since the last 2 updates... Kinect flies for me... I no longer raise my voice to talk to it. And the accuracy of voice commands has improved big time...

Voice commands for me worked just fine until the June update. Now I can hardly change the flipping channel via voice, and literally half the time it doesn't wake up when I say "Xbox On". Also, it now takes a full minute for the TV app to recognize my Dish Network DVR is attached and on (even though it does actually turn ON the DVR when it successfully hears me say "Xbox On"). The June update was just garbage.

maybe because I have a sound bar above kinect sensor? but it has at least 5 inch distance horizontally. but even if it was sound bar why it works at least 1 out of 20 tries when its all off? perhaps as someone suggested I have a bad hardware

The face recognition and skype calls are working great. so I assume its correctly positioned ;) but just the voice commands are awfully impractical.

this is not an exhaustive list, just the most annoying features

I cant believe you guys are all happy to have paid £400+ for that thing. You are good customers !

Something must honestly be wrong... Are you sure you are receiving the updates?
I now speak in normal tone to Kinect. I hears me from further distance now.. And it moves. The hand gestures have improved (although i never really use them)

It does have an issue, with being aware that I have more than 1 HBO channel (but I can let that pass)...

Maybe you should RMA your One...

Yes, Kinect has emotions and gets passive aggressive when you shout or talk down to it.
