Orbit Downloader

Orbit Downloader is a download manager which is devoted to new generation web (web2.0) downloading, such as video/music/streaming media from Myspace, YouTube, Imeem, Pandora, Rapidshare, support RTMP. And to make general downloading easier and faster.

Orbit Downloader is written with efficiency in mind, it typically uses less than 3MB of memory and 3% of cpu when downloading. Additionally, the installation package is less than 2MB.

What's new:

  • Fix: Firefox Addon doesn't work in some cases.
  • Add: Add "Become a fan" and "Follow us" link on status bar.

I'm still waiting for them to implement a way to choose and remember columns. I hate that v3 does not remember their state. At least v2 does, with the exception that the Left column is always shown if you downsize it to make invisible.

It is not much to ask, but in the meantime I recommend sticking with v2 as well.

They pretty much destroyed Orbit with v3. There are serious problems to fix such as unexplainable randomization of your download list and gui problems (download speed text not updating when you have more than 10 files on your list).

Recommendation: Stay with latest build of v2 for now.
