PlayStation E3 press event introduces Uncharted 4, LittleBigPlanet 3 and more

Last year, Sony impressed consumers, fans, and the industry when it unveiled the PlayStation 4. This year it looks to repeat that feat without the aid of a next generation console unveiling. Sony's press event had a couple of heavy hitting titles, but also some obscure games that will only cater to a niche group. Regardless, Sony is taking chances, which means it's willing to think outside the box, and that could be the defining difference.

Uncharted 4: A Thief's End

It wouldn't be a PlayStation event without announcing one of Sony's hottest gaming titles, Uncharted. Naughty Dog unveiled Uncharted 4: A Thief's End with footage from the game that was taken from a PS4. While it didn't say whether this was gameplay footage; Nate, the lushness of the jungle, and detail of the environment looked superb. Uncharted 4 will release in 2015.

Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept

Killzone Shadow Fall, one of the PlayStation 4's launch titles is getting an expansion. The expansion titled, Killzone Shadow Fall Intercept is an online expansion to the popular first-person shooter. The new expansion will feature four-player online co-op, four distinct player roles, and four new maps. This expansion will be available in the summer of 2014.

inFAMOUS First Light

inFAMOUS First Light will be a stand-alone title that will be available on the PlayStation Store starting August 2014.

Entwined

Entwined is one of the more unique titles released at the PlayStation event. The game focuses on the story of a fish and a bird that are in love, and must be united. The game looks very soothing and will require players to follow a set of patterns that will eventually join the two together. Entwined is available now from the PlayStation Store.

LIttleBigPlanet 3

LIttleBigPlanet returns for a third go-around on Sony's latest console. LIttleBigPlanet 3 will add the use of three new friends and bring physical depth to the stages. Just like previous releases, you will be able to create levels and discover other people's creations via the online community. LIttleBigPlanet 3 is expected on November 2014.

The Order: 1886

The Order: 1886 is a new single-player action-adventure title that will take place in London. This will be an exclusive for PlayStation and will be released in 2015.

Bloodborne

Bloodborne is a new horror action RPG from the director of Dark Souls, Hidetaka Miyazaki. There is not much information on this title. It will be released sometime in 2015.

 Dead Island 2

With a title as successful as Dead Island, you knew there was bound to be a sequel. Sony announced Dead Island 2, which will take place in California. This will be in contrast to the first Dead Island that took place on a remote island.

Devolver Digital and The Talos Principle

Devolver Digital is releasing a ton of new and interesting games to the PlayStation 4, 3, and Vita. The games will utilize vintage sprites with a focus on retro gaming. Broforce, Titan Souls, Not a Hero, and Hotline Miami 2 will be hitting the PlayStation Store in 2014. The Talos Principle will be a first-person puzzle game from the creators of Serious Sam. The game will feature 120 puzzles and will be released in 2014.

Let It Die

Let It Die is a fairly violent game that doesn't have much gameplay or an explanation. The trailer does not show much, but there seems to be a progression element that will allow you to level up and face new foes. Let It Die is coming to the PlayStation in 2015.

ABZÛ

ABZÛ is another title that aims to expand the minds of players with serene music, soothing graphics, and a relaxing experience. The game will have players exploring the vast oceans where they will encounter creatures, docile sea life, and possibly hidden locations.

Grim Fandango

Although not a completely new title, the classic game will be remastered exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and Vita. Grim Fandango will be a PlayStation exclusive.

No Man's Sky

Sony is continuously trying to expand its unique games by introducing titles that don't seem to fit into a current game genre. No Man's Sky is a science-fiction exploration game that will have players exploring planets and outer space.

Batman: Arkham Knight

The sequel to 2013's Batman: Arkham Origins is back with a new element that may look familiar to gaming aficionados. Batman will now battle the foes of Gotham with the aid of his Batmobile. While this title wont release until 2015, there is plenty of gameplay footage in the above trailer.

Grand Theft Auto V

Lastly, Grand Theft Auto V, Rockstar's final masterpiece for PlayStation 3 was a very special game. It pushed the console to its limits and introduced a new element to the franchise that had never been seen before. The only thing anyone could've possibly asked for is a release on the PlayStation 4. Luckily, Rockstar has done just that and will release the iconic title on the PlayStation 4 in 2014.
