PowerUser.TV e62: Finale

The PowerUser gang is back for one more regularly scheduled episode. This week they discuss how robots could demand legal rights (they poo-poo the idea, as is to be expected), they review the Windows Vista system requirements, they discover that the Zune is making no dent in the iPod market ( shock! ) and we revisit a previous story about Nigeria becoming a toxic waste dump.

In gaming news, Nintendo is making good on 3.2 million Wii straps, and of course our rambunctios gang can't keep their dirty minds out of the gutter. Joel Hulsey gives his top game picks of 2006, as does Brad Wardell. And finally we bid a fond but somewhat bittersweet adieu to all of the fans that have stuck with us for 62 episodes.

We will be back in the future with non-scheduled "special" episodes. Thank you to everyone who has supported us over the last year and a half.

Happy Holidays to All and Best Wishes for the New Year, from the PowerUser Team!

Agreed, imo Zune > ipod, and I've owned both.

Don't forget the occasional ignorant jab at France and/or Europe followed by a dorky snicker. The Zune was not the only topic that was the brunt of unfounded comments.

Brazil's in South America...about 2000 miles plus from Europe, but good comeback. I am continually amazed (not suprised, mind you) at some of the things that are mentioned here........

The Neowincasts we did were true Neowin podcasts. None of us were working for Stardock (and none of us currently work for Stardock, so there!) and we certainly weren't biased towards them.

PowerUser.TV was certainly NOT biased towards Stardock in its news reporting. Anyone who actually listens to the show knows this. Heck, it has shout outs to people on Neowin.net and talks about BPN and other areas quite regularly. The stories covered are mostly from Neowin.net's home page.

Brad, my reply was supposed to be to Marduk up ^^ there, and not meant as a knock at you guys. I was trying to say that the Neowin made podcasts weren't "in with Stardock" since I thought that that's what Marduk thought, or at least was trying to say that. :P

/me wonders if Frog ever listened to them after he recorded them....

W00t! Finally! Now hopefully if a podcast ever comes back it'll be a true Neowin podcast not some stardock biased one made of course by stardock. Break open the bubbly!

Of course even though every boy and his dog now has podcasts Neowin says its hard to get a podcast of their own on the go :/(or something like that) ah well. It was kinda nice while it lasted *pours some bubbly on the ground*.

You do know that he's an admin on neowin and you can kiss your IP goodbye?
*tempts Brad to put his finger on the ban button*

We aren't canned, it's just very hard to get anyone to do one with me.

I may just start doing them solo, but they won't be newscasts, just gamingcasts.

Too bad :(.... For me, the appeal was the whole tech-news stuff, not just the gaming.

Yea! It's finally over with! Now everyone get back to work on making Neowin a better place instead of boring podcasts.

...and Bah Humbug.

You do realize that except for Brad Wardell, no one on the Poweruser.tv podcast works on Neowin, right?

Meh... Sorry, I was just grumpy earlier...

Just in time before i loose my fast net.
I'll be listening to it in the plane on my way to my home country. An island of... low speed net.

they say what were all thinking...nothing but good old politically incorrect comic gold

all the best... and thank you for these 62 episodes

Sad to see it leave, but nevertheless good luck to Brad, Kristen, Derek, Joel and everyone else who works on the podcast!
