Pre-order Windows Phone 7 and get 3 months of Zune Pass free

Are you really excited over all of the Windows Phone 7 news? Can you just not wait to get your hands on one? Microsoft has a great deal for you that gets you the phone you want as soon as it is available and a little gift for pre-ordering.

Microsoft is offering anyone who signs up to be notified of when they can pre-order Windows Phone 7, then use the same email to complete the transaction three months of Zune Pass for free. All you need to do as of now is shoot them an email, and follow through with the pre-order once it is announced then you get your three months of Zune Pass for free. Please note that the fine print states that it is only available to those in the United States.

Zune Pass is a subscription based music service that allows users to download an unlimited amount of music, and keep listening to it as long as they keep paying the monthly rate of $14.99. The service allows you to stream music from any web browser, Xbox 360, Zune, and now Windows Phone 7. In addition to the unlimited downloading, users can also keep 10 songs a month permanently. Comparing to other popular music services that charge $1 per song, it isn't too bad of a deal.

Microsoft just asks that you confirm you are going to buy a phone now, and then follow up later with a pre-order of Windows Phone 7. Find out more at Microsoft's Store page, and enjoy the music!

My only problem with the submission process was why is it an email to "no-reply@..." ? Not only that, but it prefills the subject line and blocks the message as spam if you copy/paste the subject as the body.

Seems like a pretty smart case to put a web form...

Like the stupid X-Box live, this sux!

Care to say why you think $15/month for unlimited subscription streaming (across PC, Mac, Xbox 360, Zune, and soon Windows Phone) and 10 DRM-free MP3 tracks per month "sux"? Do you know of a better deal out there?

Even if he did he'd still say it sucks.

And the best part is that there are rumors that Apple is about to start offering subscriptions after all these years of saying "nobody wants to rent music". I wonder how long it will be before they offer/copy the same type deal as Zune Pass. Bet this guy will be all for it then!

Anyone knows if this is for new Zune Pass customers, or can people with current Zune Pass subs get the 3 months free? (that's 30 songs free if they let you keep the songs)

Assuming it was all done through the same email account, I don't see why it would be for only new Zune Pass customers.

I've had my Zune Pass for over four years now and I signed up. Theres no harm in trying.

You won't get 3G. HD7 is coming out in europe (no NAM 3G) and T-Mobile USA (still not the correct frequencies). You better hope either South America or Australia (only 1/2 bands) get it.

WHERE is the MINI Zune player I can strap to my arm? They NEED something in this range, big time, why are they missng the boat here?

I don't think they need a mini player. The Zune HD is pretty darn small as it is and it weighs almost nothing, but I have also wondered if they would ever offer a smaller unit. Not that I'd buy one. My collection would never work with one of those.

Free concert tickets at Microsoft retail store openings and now this. It just seems like Microsoft (and their partners) can't drum up enough excitement on their own.

You don't know much about marketing, do you?

Apple gives away an iTouch with a Mac during the back to school season. It just seems like Apple can't drum up enough excitement on their own.

No, so enlighten me.

How about you compare Apple selling the iPhone since you wanted to bring Apple into this? Using a promotion to move stock of a product that is at the end of its cycle is one thing, but these are brand new devices. The only thing that I am aware that Apple gives away during its store openings are tshirts. If I have to compare the companies, Microsoft looks like the one that has to create excitement for its products by the giveaways while Apple does not. I didn't bring up Apple, you did. I don't see why every time one company is brought up in a discussion, the other has to be either.

So you would rather have no 3G (I doubt european models will come with NAM 3G) than have a couple extra crapware programs that you can unpin from the start screen and never use?

Looks like Australian based companies are going to start out sourcing more to US. May also help boost our tourist segments.

If you think being a Tea Party follower isn't 'THE' thing to persuade people to WP7 then I guess nothing will... so says Barbara Obamer. :-P

The issue is different: I travel abroad a lot and there is no way I am going to pay roaming charges. Therefore for the time being I might need to give up 3G..... until the OS will be unlock.
