PS3 PAL Launch Announcement Delayed

PAL, Launch and Delay seem to go hand in hand with Sony at the moment, fortunately, this latest delay should not affect the actual release of the PS3, but it does mean that we will have to wait till Friday until we can find out the solid plans for the launch of the console in Europe.

Expect the date to still be March 23rd as reported last week, but official details including price and the inclusion of both PS3 models remains sketchy until Sony tells us the truth. Edge Magazine have a secret informer who has told them £425 and March 23rd, but that's nothing new.

Expect all the details on Friday, and hopefully not more news about there not being any news.

I work for a major games retailer in the UK and we just got an internal announcement from Sony confirming the date to be the 23rd of march and that we will be taking pre-orders in the next month or so.

looks pretty set to me...

u should start putting the aussie price tag up there as well :P after all it looks alot more expencive when u say $899 or $999 :P hehehe...

we will still be waiting,.. that is if sony gives us anything...

Can't wait to get one, so i can get rid of this noisy, overheating and ugly X360 which doesn't even support HDMI, playback of high-def video format, boot Linux, offer wireless capabilities through WLAN and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR out-of-the-box.

Just pair it with a few good games and boom, it's gonna sell like hotcakes.

I have no problems playing high-def content with my 360, either from the add-on or from Marketplace. My PS3 is turning into a huge paperweight as there's nothing out for it at the moment that I'm interested in.

If I was you I wouldn't do that, cause then you only could playback region 1 BR discs... NTSC sucks!!!

There is no NTSC or PAL with High-Def. The important thing is if it's 1080p/24 or 1080p/25. From what I understand the discs are 1080p/24.
