Thanks. I'll have to give this another try in an out of date vm. I've tried previous versions but the reason I never used them is because for some reason when it would auto update adobe flash or other applications it would take forever to install the update where as patchmypc does it in about 10 seconds. Maybe they have improved the speed. I'll try it out.

If you want an application that no matter if you set it to manual will still keep trashing your hard drive for minutes, always picking the worst moments to start a scan, until you desperately disable its service to make it stop, then PSI is the best software for the task.
