MSI installer does not have graphical installation windows. It installs in the background. So there is no difference after it is installed in your PC.

Uninstalled. The Metro app is far better than the desktop app.

What exactly are you smoking or you simply don't use Skype that much so the Metro app is enough for you as useless as it is. I couldn't even figure out how to make it show my online contacts only (nor any clear indication about who is online and who isn't). The Metro app is a complete joke actually. Just like most other metro apps so far - some look pretty, some not so much but none of them are functional at all...

A green circle appears on the online contact's tile. It's not that hard to figure out.

Eitherway, the desktop app is a joke. It's a mess, that even after all of this time, still hasn't been cleaned up, and crashes more than any other app I use.

What's the difference between the MSI and the EXE offline installers? I mean, there is about 8.6MB difference in size, is there something missing if one uses the MSI installer instead?

For some particular reason only the .msi file worked to update my current installation of Skype, the .exe didn't, as it stated an error that I had another install already.
