Sprint's WP7 Arrive up for pre-orders, comes with Copy & Paste

It has been announced today that the elusive CDMA HTC 7 Pro has been made available to pre-order, making it the first Windows Phone 7 device for Sprint. The phone has been renamed to the HTC Arrive, with official availability starting on March 20.

The phone comes with a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon Processor, 5 MP 720p HD Camera and 16GB of built in memory with the option of an additional memory card. In addition to all of that, it also comes with a full QWERTY keyboard and GPS.

The HTC Arrive isn’t the first full QWERTY keyboard phone however, the Dell Venue Pro which was one of the first WP7 phones to be released came styled with a full keyboard and although the specifications of both phones are alike, the Arrive nudges ahead with double amount of internal memory over the Venue Pro.

Sprint made sure we all heard when they also announced the phone will be launching with the copy and paste update that Microsoft promised us and will sell for $199.99. Combined with the new commercials that Microsoft is planning to air, Microsoft is continuing its push for WP7.

Arrive nudges ahead with double amount of internal memory over the Venue Pro.

The Dell Venue Pro has the same amount of physical memory as the HTC 7 Pro. Not sure why it is mentioned in the article that it comes with double the amount of RAM. Both devices have 512mb ram. Pretty misleading.

What is special about the copy and paste update? I have a Dell Venue Pro and it has that functionality since I got it. However the Venue Pro looks and feels more polished Clockspeed always doesnt count, the Venue Pro is super fast as it is and battery life is great.

I have an EVO too and I have noticed battery life on CDMA devices is not that great compared to battery life on equal or comparable GSM devices. Maybe its just me.

It's a well known fact that CDMA uses more battery than GSM.

sprints needs to get the lead outta there ass and announce release a dual core monster like att got lol

How about the ATT network too? Somebody would have to pay me a lot to get back on ATT. Voice is great..data network speed sucks.

hmm, so maybe the multitasking update that come out next month will include copy and paste? might ditch android and put this on my hd2

The update is suppose to be coming on March 8th and will include copy & paste. It's no supprise a phone being released on March 20th is going to include the update, it's an additional selling point.

Dell Venue Pro has the same 512MB of RAM. A firmware bug is causing it to report half. Fix is arriving with nodo.

March 11th I believe. Loving the Dell Venue Pro so far. One of the best phone's I have used in the last 4 years. The Venue pro is definitely not the beefiest compared to other phones, but it destroys the Iphone for sure

This phone probably isn't the best to start as a slider. If your in the market for one probably best to hold off until more come along.

The only up side of this is the keys are probably some of the best as done by HTC touch pro 2 and desire Z

Down sides - it's thick and chunky, hardware is average at best. cameras very poor quality like other HTC WP7 devices and finally the screen could be a lot better considering size and amount of wasted space where the main buttons are on the front.

I think It's safe to say wait for better htc slider or from another company.

I have a TP2 as well. I would really rather the Samsung Omnia 7 (best looking WP7 device imo). I am hoping Sprint announces something more about WP7 devices at CTIA. If not though the Arrive is still a MONSTER upgrade from the TP2. I am just not real jazzed about it being pretty much the exact same dimensions.

Where are you quoting the info about having expandable memory? I didn't see that in any of the specs for the phone on Sprints site.

I'm glad I switched over the T-Mobile, I dislike the slider type, loving my HTC HD7 here.

I know! I love my HTC HD7

Now when the heck is this coming to Verizon?

Ya know I was a Verizon customer for six years till this December. I remember waiting all those years for VZ to get some good phones and it seemed like they were dragging their feet. Meanwhile ATT was getting all the nice phones even before the iPhone. I held onto my LG VX6800 for two years after my contract expired becuase VZ didn't offer any phones I wanted but I didn't want to leave the network.

Well I made the jump to T-Mo this December when Dell finally shipped the Venue Pro. Im very satisfied with T-Mo's coverage (although I have not traveled to the beach yet) and I get unlimited txt and data (althought it might be capped) for far less than i was paying VZ.

But I think VZ finally got the clue and are encouraging manufacturers to build devices that work on VZ's network. I wantes to wait for CDMA WP7 devices but it kinda irked me when I asked a VZ rep when they might be getting some WP7 devices and the rep tried to convince me to upgrade to an iPhone. I was like. .....If I wanted an iPhone I'd have had one by now.

Dell makes the venue, htc makes the touch pro and Lg makes the quantam.
So there are 3 keboarded wp7 phones, 2 landscape, 1 portrait.

I believe that he means something like a Blackberry Bold...

Or more likely, he just wants a non-slider CDMA Windows Phone?

Awesome finally some copy and paste action!

Copy and paste is there on the Dell Venue Pro also, not sure what you mean by finally copy & paste action?
