SRWare Iron 20.0.1150.0

Iron is a clone of Google Chrome based on the Chromium-source and offers the same features as Chrome without the critical points that concern users´ privacy.

Google's Web browser Chrome thrilled with an extremely fast site rendering, a sleek design and innovative features.  But it also gets critic from data protection specialists , for reasons such as creating a unique user ID or the submission of entries to Google to generate suggestions. SRWare Iron is a real alternative. The browser is based on the Chromium-source and offers the same features as Chrome - but without the critical points that the privacy concern.

What's new in this version:

  • minor design changes
  • security fixes
  • faster Javascript

A no brainer for a choice over Chrome!

Might have to start using it again as I gave up on Opera (temporarily)

As far as updates, it uses the same engine as Chrome, so updates come shortly after Chrome is updated.

Still don't like the bookmark layout in this thing though.

Can't stand waiting a looong time for updates on the pretty much dead Coolnovo.
So I switched to Chromium.

Does Iron update regularly?

not really. it still takes several days to weeks after google chrome update before seeing a version of srware iron match google's.

it took over a month between iron v19.0.1100.0 and v20.0.1150.0 releases.

I thought it was the other way around. The last time I was using Sr-I, I recall while Google chrome was rolling out updates like every other week or month - there was pretty much no new updates for this browser going on for almost like 5 months. I finally gave up and moved on, found Chromeplus now Coolnovo, still using it, even though the updates seem to also have dried up.

Honestly, I really like Chromeplus and might continue using it because of its own implemented settings and advanced setting (now scrapped) features most especially the tab + mouse gestures and bookmark toolbar management unlike the other Chrome-based browsers.
