TechSpot: Hottest PC games for the 2010 Holiday Season

This year’s holiday shopping season is looking to be a great one for PC gamers as game developers bring out their latest wares and graphics cards manufacturers battle it out to deliver the best performing piece of hardware on the market. With just a few weeks left before Christmas, it’s likely you or someone on your shopping list are already looking forward to spend some quality time indoors playing the hottest titles on your computer.

Game release dates tend to change a lot during their development, and unfortunately some titles that were meant to be here already have been pushed to next year. We know it’s hard to keep up with these changes, so we’ve gone ahead and listed what we believe are the hottest games on the PC this holiday season.

Naturally, this list is subjective, but we hope it will allow you to choose wisely when shelling out your hard earned cash. We set our focus on games released during the last quarter of 2010, but inevitably we couldn’t resist including a few slightly older titles that deserve your attention in case you skipped them earlier on.

sadly game play is boring and i couldnt care less about the graphics..

what game ?

all of em !

Not worth the effort to click on a link to a torrent.
Thats pretty sad when people don't even want a game when its free LOL

that list is horrible. Most of the games are out, and the only thing to look forward to is nfs hot pursuit.
I guess come x-mas it will be time to replay some oldies.

I think most of the great games will come out next year,
My game list for next year (I know most are RPGs):

Two Worlds 2
Mass Effect 3
Torchlight 2
Dungeon Siege 3
Heroes of Might and Magic 6
The Witcher 2
Shugun 2 Total War
Mech Warrior 5
Deux Ex 3
Red Fraction Armageddon
Batman Arkham City
Lord of the Rings War of the North
Dragon age 2
Duke Nukem Forever (only took 12 years)
Bioshock Infinite
Battlefield 3
Sacred 3
Metal Gear Solid Rising
FarCry 3
Neverwinter
Urban Empires
WarHammer Space Marines
Thief 4

I know I left out many good games but these are definately the ones that I m most interested to see, by the way I also think
Starcraft 2 (Heart of the Swarm, and Legacy of the Void) and diablo 3 will be overrated... reason for this is lack of new innovative gameplay.
Diablo 3 looks to be the largest disappointment of the year based on what i ve seen from it so far

Hopefully they will begin development on another elder scroll game that is not an MMO, getting sick of MMOs

I wouldn't call a 90% in Metacritic crap, also it is made by Criterion so there is a good chance that it will be good. Tron, on the other hand is made by the same guys who did Turok, so , yeah.

I disagree. Civilization V is amazing, NBA 2k11 is a blast, F1 2010 is great, etc.

i like watching NBA basketball but most of those sports games are usually the same ol stuff so i usually don't play them. about the only thing that makes 2K11 stand out a little more than usual is because the 1990's Bulls etc are in it with Michael Jordan who i grew up watching in the 1990's as i started watching NBA around 1993.

but from the looks of things we both into different gaming genres as i am mostly into shooter related games overall as the vast majority of games i play are shooter type games.

p.s. most of the major gaming titles are overrated.. like Call of Duty (it's fairly good but nothing that approaches the level of it's sales figures) and especially Halo series which is very overrated etc etc.

medal of honor should not be on any list of good/hot games of 2010

If someones only keen on single player ... yeah maybe... multiplayer on it's still good fun alternative to bad company 2 or call of duty.

Not true, Caleo. NFS: Hot Pursuit, WoW: Cataclysm and Tron: Evolution have yet to be released.

1. NFS has been crap for a while now. I'm not holding my breath.
2. I have no interest in WoW.
3. Movie games are crap 9/10 times. I don't expect Tron to be any different.

Too bad there's not really anything left to look forward to.. and what already has come out has been pretty disappointing.

Also.. fable 3's not going to hit PC this year so I'm not sure why it's on this list.

I also agree. The games that we've been expecting have been really disappointing. I really hope that at least we get to have a solid Assassin's Creed. But Black OPS and Halo Reach have been pretty disappointing, IMO.
Incredible, but true. I find to be Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm 2 better than all of those games, don't know why though, I just feel like is something different and it doesn't bore you very fast.
