Game publisher Tecmo confirmed today what's been rumored for several months now: they're working on a PlayStation 2 sequel to Rygar, their classic NES action game. Rygar: The Legendary Adventure (that's the name of the sequel) will make its debut at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
Tecmo released the original Rygar, set in an odd post-apocalyptic version of ancient Rome, for arcades and the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987. The company isn't saying much about The Legendary Adventure, preferring to save the surprise until E3, but they claim it "will rock the video game industry" with its exciting action and giant environments.
