Today's Apple event to be live streamed on iOS, Mac, and Apple TV

Today's Apple special event will be live streamed on Apple TV and on the web for iOS and Mac devices, the first time since 2010. It is widely expected that Apple will announced a smaller version of its popular iPad tablet, with rumours that it will be called the iPad Mini, come in at just under 8-inches and feature the same resolution screen as the iPad 2. The device is set to take on Amazon's Kindle Fire and Google's Nexus 7 tablet.

Rumours also suggest that Apple will reveal a 13-inch version of its Retina MacBook Pro, a brand new iMac, new Mac Mini, and launch iTunes 11.

There aren't in the same market so why are you asking? Trolling?

I think that's a legit question. We should just wait and see what the mini offers. I was sold on the surface RT until I saw the price.

Mini will be 1024x768 iPod with 16GB storage for $345

And no I did not misspell iPod, it'll be YA same hardware in different casing device. Apple is selling just one device with different screen sizes basically.

... and different prices.

Just saw the iPad Mini price and some specs. It's not impressive.

This exactly. It's just a big iPod touch. And the big iPad is just an even bigger iPod touch.

Should I get iPad Mini or Surface RT?
Why not both? I already have and love my Retina iPad, but I wouldn't mind a Surface as well (but not the RT, that crap is useless with the current selection of apps/games.)

Except unlike the Android phones and tablets, devs actually make different versions of their software specifically for the larger screen size.

And they once again lie about the "Mac outgrowing the PC".

Well, is the rate of Mac users growing faster than that of PC users? I guess they could spin it that way if it were true?

Mac sales seem to go up and up, PC's seem to flatline or have very small increases, this isn't spin, it's more reality.

I thought that would've been obvious...

Guess I should rephrase: What's up with everyone convering every little product launch event like it's a big deal?

An Apple event like this may seem small to some, but considering Apple has become the biggest tech company in the world it does matter to many people, so we cover it.
