use it, love it, been using it since version 2 I recall but it's been so long I can't remember. Been paying for it since they started charging. I haven't wasted a single dime :)

I used to use stand alones like msn, yahoo, aim etc but, i've given those up and purchased astra and i love everything they've done with it so far.

Wouldn't all the features in PRO (apart from the interface) are already available for free in Digsby? Why would you want to pay for it ?

Thats like asking why people bother paying for Windows when you can do almost the same things on Linux.

Because windows runs other applications

In this case if LInux could do everything for free just like digsby can do everything for free that astra could do, then yes I would use linux then.

Linux can run almost everything Windows can if you use WINE

But almost just isn't enough. :D

Nothings perfect Plus, how do you all think Cerulean Studios would fair if they just made it all free.. that'd mean more ads in their software, less development, people would start whining about everything, etc. Over time the product would start to die.

and a million prompts to install adware like digsby

Does any one know of a messenger program that will intergrate Microsoft communicator? My work uses communicator for IM but I'd rather not :-)

I've never seen one, probably because it works jointly with Office Communications Server, which uses more than just standard SIP protocols.

As far as I know there is a plug-in that you can use to enable that protocol check out the Trillian forums and it should be there under plugins

I might would consider purchasing this if they allowed native OS Skinning but hell will freeze before they implement that.

Seriously. This is why I ditched Trillian yeeeaars ago. It wasn't simply that they didn't support native skinning, but the devs went out and openly declared that they had no intention of EVER supporting native skinning.

And I just don't see anything Trillian does that Digsby doesn't.

I don't know, how did they ruin it? I loved 4.0 so much I even PAID for the premium membership. Its rare that I go out of my way to pay for software, I usually just use free alternatives.

+1 I did the same, I even bought it for one of my friends I IM with alot because I prefer talking on the Astra platform so much.

I have to echo the positive feedback for Trillian Astra, I purchased the pro version as well. I loved the old 3.x versions, and this is much better. It even has a clean and "minimalistic" skin if you prefer that.

i paid for it as well, i love how it has a WEB interface for paid users. Alot of ppl i know have problems with Digsby 'losing' msn messages, and so on, Trillian just works and its updated pretty regularly.
