Unboxing: Sony Xperia Z

It's been long awaited in the Neowin offices, but finally the Sony Xperia Z has shown up on our doorsteps and enabled us to do a short(ish) unboxing video of Sony's flagship Android device. Don't forget to also check out the hands-on preview we did a few weeks ago, just in case you don't want to watch a video of stuff being chucked out of a box.

As always, look for a review of the Xperia Z on Neowin in the coming days, and in the meantime you can follow @ScorpusV on Twitter for tidbits of information as the review progresses.

Wow. I'm more of a Windows Phone guy, but that phone is a beaut. The display looks really great and sharp. Wish Sony would make a Windows Phone version of the Xperia. Even the first Xperia was Windows Mobile...

i really liked the idea of this phone when i saw it in the paper last week, then i realised it had a 5" screen.

Jesus christ, that really put me off

I am posting this comment while using a Xperia z. Besides the build quality there is nothing special about this phone. The 1080p resolution and 440 dpi screen is hardly anything special.

Yet, somehow, the 4 inch 300 something ppi iShill screen is revolutionary and magical, right?

love your unboxing videos, very creative, and good to see how the tryouts run!
this phone looks nice, but I wish somebody invents a Pip-boy like in Fallout! That would be soo badassss!!!

I.......don't understand the appeal of unboxing videos. Not attacking or anything, just speaking in general.

So people can see what they can't get/afford?

I've often wondered that myself. But I think it's like men with foot fetishes, it's a niche market (a small population that has that fetish - seems like there is a niche for these kinds of videos).
