uTorrent 3.2.2 Build 28595

µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little CPU, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients. µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all. Additionally, the program itself is contained within a single executable less than 1.0 MB in size.

Release highlights for µTorrent 3.2.2 include:

  • Fixed peer ID bug causing disconnects
  • Windows-8 compatible
  • New offer platform displays in-client offers from BitTorrent and software partners
  • Fixed crashes in "add torrent" dialog and numerous other crash fixes
  • Numerous bug fixes
  • Small improvements to magnet link handling
  • OK/Cancel moved to bottom right of add torrent dialog
  • Twitter/Facebook icons - click to like and/or dismiss
  • Add Torrent dialog displays magnet link data
  • Layout changed to display more files at once
  • Fixed discrepancy between single and multi-file torrent save directories

What's new in this version:

  • Fix: Activation error dialogs showed up unexpectedly
  • Fix: settings keeps asking for uconnect computer name
  • Fix: http headers are now compatible with private trackers
  • Fix: Install / Uninstall race condition
  • Change: Include all trackers in "Copy Magnet URI" command, not just the first tier

thanks will give qbtorrent a try

Qbitorrent is like utorrent, but without the bundled crap. True they can be unchecked, but why should i have to do that. The creator should make them unchecked by default so no forcing crap on users, unless users actually want that crap.

People still torrent? I've always thought of that as a way for some one who doesn't know how to find stuff, to use. One thing I've never done much of. To slow for me as I can find anything and everything other ways, that are MUCH faster and NO seeding crap!!

So your saying 'torrents' are slow when they are designed to find the fastest peers and get your download done. Maybe its just you?

qbitorrent, for the smart guys. It does even use less resources than this bloatware, giant billboard.

Also, for the guy above who talks about the creator and his needs to make money... Don't worry, he's rich already. He sold the program to a company which couldn't build ****. None was using their program, and now, unfortunately, they slowly turned μtorrent into their ex crappy client. Go to TorrentFreak to check how much money they already make -before they shoved 100 ads onto your face. Imagine now... I wouldn't even talk about your privacy...

I still have μtorrent installed, but the last somewhat good version, 2.2.1.

You are aware that you can turn off the ads, right? Using 3.2.2 here and I don't see a single ad in the window.

221 works great combined with the private tarcker dht patch i made and uplaoded to a well known site i'm loving my client.
Still waiting for those uber hackers that are gonna steal my megahurtz by exploiting all those security vulnerabilities in v2.2.1 build whatever..

The only reason you can turn the ads off was because of the pressure from the users themselves. They noticed an immediate decline of installs/app recommendations and decided to fix it, well, by the time they did, it was too late.

qBittorrent is the new uTorrent. Developers of uTorrent had solid gold in their hand… they flushed it down the drain. Shame on them.

No, actually they decided to make money from their gold and there's nothing wrong with that. Furthermore I don't see what qtbittorrent offers over utorrent.

Let me think… no toolbar, no ads, no bloat, no spywares…

All of which is optional during installation (like a lot of other free programs) or can be disabled. And bloat? Have them both running at the moment in a sandbox.. resource usage is more or less identical.

Stop whinig, little children! You get a free application and download tons of stuff without paying!
The guy making it, deserves to monetize it somehow, he's gotta eat too you know...!!!
You're whining like small babies for the toolbar, the sidebar and the offers, when you have the ability to disable them all.
You DON"T install the toolbar, if that's what you want.
You can DISABLE all the sidebar and all of it's contents.
You can DISABLE the offers that appear at the top.
I'm tired of reading all over the internet, oh no it sucks, because of the toolbar and because of this and because of that.
uTorrent was and will remain number 1 of the most used bittorrent clients (google it if you don't believe me), so deal with it.

we'll whine all we want ..suck it up "Dad"

If you do nothing about things in life you get whatever is handed to you.
It your personal responsibility to speak up and be heard.
Don't let opinionated controlling bully's like this guy keep you down.

New dimension of spyware. You agree to install toolbar before downloading, so installer no longer asks if you want spyware or not
