uTorrent 3.3 Build 29111

µTorrent is an efficient and feature rich BitTorrent client for Windows sporting a very small footprint. It was designed to use as little CPU, memory and space as possible while offering all the functionality expected from advanced clients. µTorrent was written with efficiency in mind. Unlike many torrent clients, it does not hog valuable system resources - typically using less than 6MB of memory, allowing you to use the computer as if it weren't there at all. Additionally, the program itself is contained within a single executable less than 1.0 MB in size.

µTorrent 3.3: Performance and streamlining headline list of improvements:

µTorrent 3.3 gets a dramatic rewrite to its disk i/o, which means noticeable performance gains in multi-tasking.  For example, you can delete files from a torrent or move torrents to a new location, but without the usual slow-down in torrent downloading.  Or, download torrents to two different drives, but with the speed of downloading to a single drive. You'll notice gains at both low and high speeds, and whether you're writing to local disk, a RAID or a network drive.  You'll also experience improvements to the disk subsystem and rate limiter.

Next, we streamlined µTorrent features by eliminating underused and non-core features, including Apps and Find Content, the dual list view and the "getting started" tab.

Finally, a few bug fixes including a fix that noticeably speeds up the rendering of magnet links.

Changelog:

  • Fix: Client crash
  • Fix: gdi leak when resizing window

I tried that one... but it wouldn't display the files when opening a magnet file - sure you have to wait a while in utorrent, but they never in qBittorrent. It would switch in an instant if I got that working.

The window I'm talking about is the one where you select your files, after that you press OK to add it. I don't want to add it before I have deselected the files I don't need.

uTorrent works awesome for me. Very lightweight, no bloat, no ads, and superfast.
And best part is that it's constantly being worked on, tweaking it more and more.

no ads? so what you call the irritating recommended download crap?

Have never been bugged by such, Vuze does this allot more intrusive.
However utorrent does have an ad, bottom left corner

still most useful one. i have tried deluge, transmission and qbittorent. none of them had utorrent's features. for me, only vuze can compete with utorrent

Same, my alternative to utorrent would still be vuze/azureus.
However their popups are horribly annoying and utorrent is ALLOT less bloated and more lightweight then Vuze will ever be.
