Welcome to NeoGamr

Hello and welcome to NeoGamr, the brand new website devoted to covering all aspects of the game industry. I'm John Callaham and it's my pleasure to work with the founder of Neowin, Steven Parker, on the launch of this new sister site. I have worked as a game journalist for the past 12 years for such sites as FiringSquad and AOL's Big Download and will continue that work here on NeoGamr.

Our objective is not just to bring you the gaming news of the day but to also give you original reviews, previews, interviews and other features about the PC, console and mobile game industry. We also will be holding some game giveaways and breaking original news stories that you will see here first. We will also be attending E3 2012, which is coming up in just two short months.

A number of Neowin writers will also be contributing to NeoGamr. That includes the longtime member and moderator of the Gamers Hangout forums on Neowin, "Dirty" Larry Cooney, who has joined our news team and will be writing original content for the site. He will still be participating in our weekly podcast which will be shown here on NeoGamr. He encourages all current members of the Gamers Hangout to check out NeoGamr, and welcomes all new members that will join us in the coming months and years.

I want to thank Steven for the opportunity to help launch NeoGamr as well as Tim Kimberl for his work designing the site and Dave Legg for his hard work on programming the site for both the front and back end. NeoGamr would not exist without their efforts.

We hope all of you will enjoy the work we plan to do for NeoGamr. It promises to be a lot of fun and we hope all of you enjoy the ride.

How come nobody is talking about this Neogamer site but every one is hyped about that new game site called Polygon?

I love this! This was a great move! I've been a reader on Neowin for years now, and this is exactly what we needed!

One note, though: I sincerely hope that, unlike many other gaming websites, we can find news/info/announcements etc. about more indie-like games here - this is something I greatly miss on the web in general.

Glad you wrote this Gornot, as that is what I am going to try to focus on myself. For starters, I love more independent type of games, just a personal preference, and from a practical standpoint, they are what I can check out and do reviews on, etc. I simply just cannot do a review on a game that is 30 hours long. So I do eventually hope to bring you some of this content once I reach out to these developers.

Personally, I like games that are indie *and* 30 hours long

Seems to be working now. I think the Login button at the top may be broken though. all it does is refresh the current page. I had to use the login button at the bottom to get the login screen to show up.

Anyway good luck here.

So how does this work? Will Neowin.net still receive gaming news? Or are we going to have to come here for it all?

By the way, love the design, almost as much as Neowin.

All the gaming news will be posted here, but it will be linked from the sidebar on Neowin, as well as the dropdown menu you get when hovering over "News"

woot, I'm finally logged in

Hey Neobond, what are the chances of getting this theme on the forums?
it looks like a darker version of Pro to me, and I like it
