Windows 10: How to install new builds with Windows Update

Microsoft has said that they will be releasing incremental updates to Windows 10 during its beta lifecycle, which means that you will need to update your install frequently. With new updates coming out frequently, this process will seem quite routine by the time RTM rolls around but until that happens, here is how you update your build.

To grab the new builds follow these steps:

  • Click on the start menu and in the search box type 'Windows Update'
  • Chose 'Windows Update Settings'
  • In the left panel click 'Preview Builds'
  • Click on the 'Check' now.
  • Download the new build

After you do this, if there are bits to download for your machine, the process will start and then the waiting game begins.

It's a simple process but if you haven't played around much within Windows 10, you may not have found this feature. The other option too, is to download the entire ISO and perform a traditional install.
