Windows Vista Sounds Revealed

James Senior (Microsoft Technical Specialist) has revealed the highly anticipated sounds of Windows Vista.

"So over the weekend I installed a nice shiney RTM build and the sounds have been upgraded from the ones in XP to the new creations by Robert Fripp. I'd thought I would share some of these with you and I've compiled them in this mp3 which you can download and listen to below.

The sounds I cover are the following:

  • Critical Stop
  • ReadyBoost drive inserted
  • Windows UAC control prompt
  • New e-mail notification
  • Low Battery Alarm
  • Exclamation
  • Windows Start
  • Exit Windows"
Don't say we didn't warn you

ROFLMAO!!!!!!

btw, can people on neowin ever STOP moaning just because something on the frontpage is not what they expected?
Honestly guys, GTFO and get a life.

Wow...

Lets get the facts.

See the STRANGE NEWS icon of the week. Why would the real sounds be STRANGE? They wouldn't... thats your first clue to this being a joke... second it says right in the post "DON'T SAY WE DIDN'T WARN YOU"...

You really need to lighten up... Were allowed to have a sense of humor... lots of sites do it.

I thought it was funny to have some "light" news.

Well, that doesn't appear when you read the front page VIA RSS now does it!

I also find this extremely unfunny, and expected a higher quality than this from Neowin.

Are you commenting via RSS.... didn't think so. You should have seen the icon when you loaded up the page to complain.

So you base Neowin on what other sites do? "other sites" also post warez. Why not here? "other sites" have better features?. Why not here? Copying negative things (such as this) or anything for that matter is not gonna make the site better.

I come to Neowin because its better that those "other sites" and it gives great news and support. Because its unique and not like "other sites".

Lamest comparison I've ever heard... we are talking about a joke... a funny... etc... not illegal warez and cracking. Your comparing apple to oranges.

"Copying negative things"... Whats negative again???

hold on a min, i dont know if anyones noticed... but if you actually read the "joke" artical there is a link in it that takes you to the actual video of Robert Fripp playing the sounds.

so maybe next time just read fully rather than clicking play first because ur so excited to hear the sounds...

Aren't Neowin allowed to have a bit of fun once in a while? Is it really such a big deal that they posted a joke?

Good laugh. Thanks Neowin.

LMFAO !!

I found it hilarious - especially the Spam spam spam spam spam spam spam SPAMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM :P

They ought to leave them in to be honest, they'll probably be more 'relevant'.
