This is the only 'registry cleaner/optimizer' tool you'll ever need, period.

Sure, and thanks to ccleaner i have to reinstall my windows. I have used it for a quite long time, but recently i had info that my Windows Copy is illegal. But it is MAPS licence with full activation! MS phone support, based on error code, told me it's because of ccleaner.

Just do a system restore, that should restore a good unedited copy of the registry, unless of course you turn system restore off. If you are on vista or windows 7 and if you notice the problem right away you can restore an unmodified copy from c:\windows\system32\config\Regback

In Windows 7 it is not much needed in my experience compared to XP. The only program I use is Registry Booster (Latest Version) and so far no problems. Still I understand why the Registry should not be cleaned. Sometimes I wish the Registry never existed but perhaps some day it may go away.

What would we replace it with, go back to ini files? There's really nothing wrong with the registry.
