$50M invested into flexible displays by the US Army

The US Army has invested a further $50 million into Arizona State University's flexible-display research facility, bringing their total contribution up to $100 million.

The Army is so keen on these displays as they are rich with benefits. For example, they consume far less power than regular LCD, are they are far more durable, suitable for Army use. In addition, in would be great for soldiers, who could wear the displays to receive vital information at critical times.

However, these displays aren't just great for the Army -- they're great for consumer products also. This may also be what the Army sees in investing so much money into the displays. There is a great deal of profit to be made on these displays.
