That's probably just as much the fault of that stupid plugin wrapper, or whatever it's called, that all those Mozilla based browsers think they have to have now a days. Total POS!!

What's the difference if the plugin crashes or the whole browser? It still crashed and doesn't work!! Not to mention that plugin junk slows s**t down, constantly opening and closing and just plain loading.

The Active X version of Flash came built-in when you installed Windows 8 and it's locked; probably because of the Metro version. I don't know if we'll be able to manually update in the future in whichever version we want for IE 10 metro/desktop.

Perhaps we'll be receiving updates via Windows Update, like Silverlight.

Flash bookmarks (aka Flash Anchors) are not available
Use of the rollout event is not supported
P2P is not available
The following touch APIs are not supported: pan, rotate, swipe, zoom, press and tap, two finger tap (3167196)
The file picker for opening and saving files is not available (3138198, 3153244)
DRM protected content is not available for playback (3188803)
Narrator does not announce Flash context menu listings (3188798)
The follow options in the context menu are not functioning: cut, copy, paste, select all, delete, and copy link location (3189094)
Third party IME doesn't work in Metro mode (3176965)

not true, that is the changelog for an earlier version, this is the changelog for v271:

"This release consists of security enhancements as listed in Security Bulletin APSB12-18"
