I wouldnt rag ont he AIM client, its pretty good...and fact is pidgin and all those things have issues with file transfers n so on so...

Trillian has never had an issue with File transfers on any protocol except MSN (which has crappy FTP anyway)

true, MSN support in most third party apps tend to suck...worst was trillian for me

I havent used AIM / IM client in 7 or 8 years, so not since middle school. Now that most people have cell phones (with texting) and IM being built into sites like Facebook a client just for chatting really isn't necessary.

does anyone use the official clients anymore? , i surely don't because of bloat etc.

stuff like 'Pidgin' is far better than the actual clients.
