And just as with safari, what is this? Wikipedia entry? Advertisment? Sure does not look like any news :P

Oh and... "Avant Browser is freeware. That's right. 100% Free!" even opera is free now, is there a single browser that cost you money any longer?

Wow. Avant still around?!?! lol. I used to use it back in 2003 but switched to Firefox.

Those IE shells are useless nowadays with IE8 on the same level as firefox.

Those IE shells have always been useless!!

Yeah, IE8 is most definitely on the same level as Firefox and in fact, WAY past it!!

Back in the days, IE didn't have tabs. Forgotten that? and it didn't have a popup or adblocker. Forgotten that too? So, they might be useless now, but not earlier.

I may be bias as a member of the Avant forum staff but I think at least with the two major IE shells(Avant and Maxthon) they are no where near useless. Avant specially gives a minimalistic look to IE but still packs alot of features that IE just doesn't have.

For one if a browser doesnt allow you to put tabs on the bottom of the browser then I simply don't use it, because it takes up to much space at the top, IMHO.

Avant takes advantage of whatever version of the trident engine is installed, hense giving Avant just as much advantage over Firefox as IE has now with v8.

Avant even has the ability to be skinned. Does IE allow that?

Alot of things are coming with Avant v12 due any month now if you dont like the current version. So don't give up on it yet. Not to mention there being Orca Browser which is Avant but uses the Gecko 1.9 engine.

Just trying the Orca browser, looks good to me and is fast.

Hmm? Just went to the Orca website. Crap site doesn't work worth a darn in K-Meleon!!

Edit:
Nope, it's not just K-Meleon. IE8 and Seamonkey also get this:

PHP has encountered an Access Violation at 01B4B1BF

I have a question for all you Avant users out there. What's the point of installing Avant and using an inferior rendering engine when you can install Firefox in the same time and get a great rendering engine + extensibility?

Don't use Avant, but because not everyone is a Firefox fanboy, is why.

My personal opinion is IE8's rendering engine smokes Firefox also. Actually, so did IE6 and 7!!
