On Friday 24 May, Big Brother 3 was launched. In previous years Channel 4 have provided free access to live streams from the house on their website. However, this year, with little prior warning, they have decided to charge a fee of £9.99 a month to view the streams.
This has made many fans extremely angry. The official Big Brother forum has been inundated with posts from fans about the situation. Many wanted to know how they could complain to Channel 4 about the matter. With that, I decided to set up a campaign site for either free or reduced cost access to the streaming feeds.
Not only has the cost become an issue, but I have had complaints from many people who have in fact paid the £9.99 monthly fee to watch the streams. After paying for the service, no instructions are provided as to how to watch the streams, and many fans have experienced many technical problems when attempting to view the video.
It just seems to me as if the whole operation has been set up for financial gain, to make as much money as possible from enthusiasts of the popular show.
