Bing gets in on the foolery, mocks Google

Today is the day when, sometimes, it's best to stay off the Internet. While we have already seen some of Google's April Fools' Day jokes, Microsoft has also created an Easter egg on Bing when you search Google.

Head on over to Bing.com and type Google into the search bar. When you do this, you will be redirected to a page that looks a lot like Google's homepage but it says Bing at the top and instead of "I'm feeling lucky" it says, "I'm feeling confused."

When you do perform a search on the "Google version" of Bing, the results page turns back into Bing's standard display for search results. So, at best, this was only a skin deep change, which is what you would expect for an April Fools' Day joke.

While the day is young, we expect to see many more jokes/pranks surface across the web today so make sure to take anything you read with a grain of salt.

Yeah, I was confused for a moment too...

What you do is you actually go into the search box and type "Google", and then hit Enter. Then it'll pop up.

Is April Fools celebrated much outside the US? I'm just wondering.

It as celebrated here that I could easily say to you "Is April Fools celebrated much outside the UK?"

After changing it to US it came, and it was very funny indeed. Showed how life less is the google.com's home page is when compared to Bing, with its daily changing pictures

This one gave me a good laugh. ^^

Also the tag on this news item is "AprilFools", think it should be "April Fools" like all others from today.

Actually Bing had Snapshot before Google had knowledge graph Just wasn't as pervasive until recently.

And the entire damn internet has been doing april fools forever, so no, MSFT hasn't copied Google here. Try again.

Google copied Metro (Authentically digital) and basically all of Microsoft colors (Chrome?) that Microsoft went ahead and made their logo for Windows 8 just blue.

didn't realize google was the only company that can make april fool jokes

The problem is everything past the regular Bing search box is lifted from Google anyway, the search results format, layout, even color scheme are a direct ripoff of google. Hell, the search options to filter results are identical to Google's as well.

Its ironic, no

Bwahaha! The texts in those popups are amazing. (You know, those 4 squars that are on every Bing image of the day that gives some more stuff if you hover over it)
