Boy stabbed by drunken woman over Xbox 360 dispute

As time passes, the rate of gaming-related injuries rises, with unfortunately no sign of dropping. In the latest disturbing case, a drunken woman stabbed a 13 year old boy in the stomach, after he refused to stop playing his Xbox 360 console.

The woman, 55 year old Isobel Mackenzie, has a history of bad child care behavior, according to the Scotsman; last December, she had apparently failed to look after the same boy who she stabbed recently, again after becoming intoxicated. The boy relayed the events in this latest case to the court, stating, "She hit me on the back of the head. I stood up and pushed her back. We started fighting. She pushed me back down on the chair. I saw she had a knife. I got up and tried to push her back, and then got stabbed." This was, as mentioned earlier, after he refused to turn off his console, though Mackenzie had a rather different story to tell. She believes that the boy had stabbed himself in order to get her in trouble with the law, adding to her statement that she hadn't assaulted him.

She managed to escape a jail sentence, despite her case being a rather serious one, and now has to do 300 hours worth of community service.
