FastStone Image Viewer is a fast, stable, user-friendly image browser, converter and editor. It has a nice array of features that include image viewing, management, comparison, red-eye removal, emailing, resizing, cropping, retouching and color adjustments. Its innovative but intuitive full-screen mode provides quick access to EXIF information, thumbnail browser and major functionalities via hidden toolbars that pop up when your mouse touches the four edges of the screen. Other features include a high quality magnifier and a musical slideshow with 150+ transitional effects, as well as lossless JPEG transitions, drop shadow effects, image annotation, scanner support, histogram and much more. What's new in this version:

  • Added a Minimize button (hidden at the top-right corner of the screen) to full screen mode. Now you can minimize the application to taskbar without exiting the full screen mode
  • Added two Mouse Click options to use left/right clicks for previous/next images
  • Improved the Draw Board. Now it is possible to draw curved lines
  • Improved the Print dialog
  • Other improvements and bug fixes

The only annoyance is that it adds context menu entry for every folder. Disabling it from program itself does nothing. However it can be fixed with a simple registry edit.

This is the best image browser there is.... and it's FREE!!! I also was using ACDSee, FastStone Image Viewer is so much better.

Started using this when it hit 1.5, and haven't turned to any other program for organizing or just doing lite editing. Great program at a great price. . .FREE

this app is awesome and does what i ask of it which isn't much.
boz: i was also using ACDSee for years until i stumbled upon this app.

I was using ACDSee for years.. then I switched back to Adobe Bridge for working with my files but after using FastStone's Capture and after trying this version of their assets/photo browser I have to say it's lightning fast and works beautifully.. I have now made it to be my main photo browser.
