FBackup 4.2

FBackup is a freeware backup program for Windows, with an easy to use interface. Performs mirror backups and has wizards for backup & restore, file filters and internal scheduler. Creates standard zip files or exact copies of files, backs up open files and lets you protect your backed up files using zip passwords.

What's new in FBackup 4.2.140

  • New: Added Unicode filename support (files with non-standard characters can be easily backed up now)
  • New: FBackup is now compatible with 64-bit operating systems too
  • Update: Added "Select columns" option in the right-click menu of the Scheduler window (and 2 additional columns)
  • Update: Added a new button for "Ignore all" during restore
  • Update: Sources can be modified now even after selecting a Predefined Backup job (this way a backup job can be used as a "template" for future backup jobs)

Windows Backup (or Backup and Restore Center) is very limited. It does not support backing up of individual files and folders nor does it allow the user to skip backup of specified files and folders. This is the functionality that most users desire from a Backup utility.

I haven't used FBackup yet but it certainly looks promising.
