Firefox 5.0 Beta 3

The Web is all about innovation, and Firefox sets the pace with dozens of new features to deliver a faster, more secure and customizable Web browsing experience for all.

User Experience. The enhancements to Firefox provide the best possible browsing experience on the Web. The new Firefox smart location bar, affectionately known as the "Awesome Bar," learns as people use it, adapting to user preferences and offering better fitting matches over time.

Performance. Firefox is built on top of the powerful new Gecko platform, resulting in a safer, easier to use and more personal product.

Security. Firefox raises the bar for security. The new malware and phishing protection helps protect from viruses, worms, trojans and spyware to keep people safe on the Web.

Customization. Everyone uses the Web differently, and Firefox lets users customize their browser with more than 5,000 add-ons.

This is weird. My Firefox 4 automatically upgraded to 5.0 Beta 3 this morning, but it didn't do that for the previous two betas? Still, I don't see anything significant, but we already had that significant change with 4.0.

Firefox 5 and 6 seem to focus mostly on slight performance fixes and decreasing memory consumption.

Has it improved over FF4? I tried FF4 with my usual 30 tabs with updated addons and the app ran up to 1gb in ram usage. Went back to FF3.6.17 and stays the usual 560-680mb ram range. Why i was relectutant to use FF4 and FF4.0.1 as they both did the same. Hoping FF5 will be much better in terms of ram management then I can fully switch.

I tried Firefox 5 Beta on my Smarty Phone and the battery sunk like the titanic, uninstalled straight away... I just hope there isn't the same issue as there was with Firefox 4.... Memory usage was just insane.

I know, it's horrible blocky and crashes a lot, I have read some good reviews about Miren Dolphin is not a bad browser as well.

still no official Windows x64 build even if they said it was delayed to Firefox 5... I guess I'll have to wait for Fx6!

the final of this is supposed to be out by the end of this month, right?

does anyone know how this stacks up vs Firefox 4? (i hope it's a little more polished and memory friendly as if there is one thing that Firefox v3.6 had over v4 is probably overall memory use was better it seemed on v3.6)

infact ff4 reach about 1GB of ram fast even if i close all the tab except a few
it must be a gecko problem
