Fraps 3.5.99

Fraps is a universal Windows application that can be used with games using DirectX or OpenGL graphic technology.  In its current form Fraps performs many tasks and can best be described as:

Benchmarking Software - Show how many Frames Per Second (FPS) you are getting in a corner of your screen.  Perform custom benchmarks and measure the frame rate between any two points.  Save the statistics out to disk and use them for your own reviews and applications.

Screen Capture Software - Take a screenshot with the press of a key!  There's no need to paste into a paint program every time you want a new shot.  Your screen captures are automatically named and timestamped.

Realtime Video Capture Software - Have you ever wanted to record video while playing your favourite game?  Come join the Machinima revolution!  Throw away the VCR, forget about using a DV cam, game recording has never been this easy!  Fraps can capture audio and video up to 2560x1600 with custom frame rates from 1 to 120 frames per second!

What's new in this version:

  • Fixed counter not appearing in Aero desktop (DWM) and DX10 games after latest Windows Update

I love the software, I've used it for years. I would say Fraps is number 1 for pc gaming recording. large selection of options and still very easy to use. That's what makes the program so grand is the options. Simple and straightforward User interface. High quality output (large files because the film is not rendered yet). Has Hot keys for recording/capturing that can be changed. Also helps work around background noise programs or record them (TeamSpeak). Fraps is used for benchmarking purposes aswell because it shows the real time Frames Pre Second in the comer of the screen. You can use fraps to record your desktop too (not originally made for that, but is adapting very well). Its great software and I recommend it to friends and fellow gamers. But I would suggest using the trial or cracked version at first. Full fraps is not free. I believe the full version is $37. enjoy.

A lot of free screen capturing software for game capturing and for desktop capturing has many limitations including: lower quality, water marks, limited amount of time to record (5 mins), a lot less options, out put source limitations, etc...
If your going to use SC software get a cracked version or buy it if you don't want limitations.
