Chrome 1542.0.31546.1 going out soon

Old joke!!!!
even if the 1542 version is going to come out it would be after 382 years. Its 1 release every 3 months.

I'm not joking, I'm annoyed by the fact that they don't seem to know thay can change it to, 14.1,14.2,14.3, etc, etc, and because of them Firefox is starting to do the same...

You dont even have to bother about it since it auto updates. also I don't understand why people are so concerned. will making version 12, 13, 14 to version 1.12, 1.13,1.14 make u feel comfortable? what difference does it make?

That bugs me so much that Firefox is doing that now... It's really going to mess up add-on compatibility...

Maybe it's a good thing, addon authors need to keep up with the browser, not dump an addon and ignore it for a year

I know I don't need to worry about it, but we will start to see things like, "Firefox 15, Chrome 35, <Insert a software name here> 51" if they continue doing the same. As far as I know, the FIRST number indicated (now it doesn't) a major change, and the next one a minor. A major number didn't mean it only included two or three new features and tons of fixes.

I agree with you on most part... i know its the standard and any major release should increment the major no but its not like they did nothing on chrome 12 these are the features they have added.
Hardware accelerated 3D CSS.
New Safe Browsing protection.
and these are the feature on chrome 11
Sandboxed Adobe Flash on Windows
Password sync as part of Chrome Sync now enabled by default
GPU Accelerated Video
Background WebApps
webNavigation extension API
These things are big features but something you wont see or know until you read the release note.... these changes give a big improvement in security and speed.

Indeed they are, but imo, the could have increased the minor version, it's not like they did major code or UI(although not necessary) changes, but instead of that they added features to the existing code.

true... but the thing is that some of my old favorite add-ons (that the authors seem to have forgotten about) won't work anymore, and I don't want to stop using those add-ons (especially if there's not a good-enough replacement for it)
