Google's Nexus 5X blighted by yellow screen

One of Google's newest Nexus phones, the 5X, reportedly has an issue with the screen, giving the display a yellow hue. The problem was raised in a thread on Reddit, and appears to affect multiple users. Within hours of posting it seems the user, 'yamm3rs', who brought up the issue had managed to get a new device sent to them by Google to check whether the yellow tint was normal.

The Nexus 5X isn't the first phone to suffer from a yellow tint on its display;for example, some OnePlus One phones had the same issue when they were first released.

The yellow tint is most notable when the screen is set to full brightness and compared side-by-side to another phone. The Redditor who focused attention on the issue later commented saying "I've gotten pretty used to mine. I'll still compare but when there's not a side by side it looks pretty good."

Details on the issue are a bit scarce at the moment as Google is still to comment on the issue. It's also possible that the yellow tint might be due to software settings, if this is the case third party apps are available to manually change the display's colours.
