Guild Wars 2 pre-launch event issues being addressed

Officially, Guild Wars 2 is not supposed to launch until Tuesday but people who pre-purchased the long awaited fantasy MMO sequel can now get early access to the game's servers. However, many of those players have experienced issues in connecting to the game in the "early access" event.

Developer ArenaNet and publisher NCsoft are currently dealing with these pre-launch issues in Guild Wars 2. In a post on the game's Facebook page, ArenaNet offers up an update on their work in dealing with the game's pre-launch bugs.

The post states, "Our number one priority at present is to fix issues that are preventing players from accessing the game." Players who are seeing errors that have the numbers 7, 21, 58 and 1038 are directed to go to one of Guild Wars 2's support pages for more information.

The page added:

We are also aware of some players receiving errors resulting in code 1032 that is related with world transfer operations. These transfers are working but experiencing some delays, please refrain from trying to transfer if you are currently able to play. We also have a team working on this issue as a priority.

ArenaNet is also working to fix problems with the game's "trading post system, guild issues and party issues on overflow servers."

I "pre-purchased" the game on Saturday and was able to play. "Pre-launch-event" seemed to just be launch from what I could tell. But whatever.

I had no issues connecting to the servers but I only played for about 3-4 hours yesterday. Still trying to orient myself to the game. So far I'm impressed with a lot of aspects. But its hard to say that the leveling grind will be any less than the leveling grind we are used to with this genera of games.

You're not supposed to grind, you get almost no experience at all from it. The dynamic events and etc. on the other hand give you a whole lot of experience.

I'm level 23 and I'm not even trying to level fast at all. Been 'splorin and enjoying myself mostly.

So, pay $60 for the game, then have to deal with (a potentially) P2W cash shop?. No tnx, just another fail game like Rift and SWTOR.

Yes, but there's no subscription fee. You pay for the game and then it's forever F2P.

The cash shop also mostly sells cosmetic items. There are things such as exp boosts, but they're pretty much negligible and in no way needed to 'win' the game.

The items you can pay for with real money do not affect your performance. Like KSean said, they are basically all cosmetic, and then some xp boosts. Nothing that is crucial to gameplay by any means.

It's not pay to win. It is a cosmetic shop. And the game has no subscription. Do your homework.
$60 for an almost guaranteed 100+ hours of gameplay, over a long period of time. Good deal to me.

Nope. A little research goes a long way ya know, but I guess that'd be asking too much.

There was one issue throughout the whole weekend and it lasted only 3 hours; why was this even mentioned? Why not mention all the awesome about the game, because man there is a lot of it. I couldn't pry myself away from it at all!

Although I haven't had a single issue my entire playthrough, that doesn't mean others aren't.

The second part of my response still holds true regardless. Although I should have clarified that the only issue I had was that one - besides that - it's been smooth sailing...

That it does! Loving this game!

I personally haven't had any problems with connecting. Nor have any of my friends that play. Pretty impressive game from what I have played so far.

Just goes to show no matter now much stress testing you do, you never know how many people are going to play it when things go live. On another note the game itself is fantastic.

At least they're fixing the bloody thing instead of treating beta as a free demo stage to generate hype.
