Microsoft announces Minecraft Xbox One S bundle, set to arrive on October 3

At E3 2017, Microsoft announced an aptly named update called Super Duper Graphics Pack to the cultural phenomenon that is Minecraft. Although the game is famous for its pixel art, the update will introduce its first official graphics upgrade and is even part of the marketing push for the upcoming Xbox One X.

Today, the company revealed a new console bundle that not only offers gamers some of the fun they can have in the open-world with their trusty axe; but it embraced the aforementioned pixel art as they revamped the traditionally white Xbox One S with a new green and brown design that is found on the in-game 'dirt block'.

But it doesn't stop there; as a homage to gamers that have built some insane mechanical structures in the game using Redstone, the company has added this to the back of the console as a fan service, which could incentivize some to grab a vertical stand as well. Redstone is a gemstone in Minecraft that can be used to build simple door mechanisms, but also advanced structures like working computing systems.

The bundle includes the following items at $399.99:

  • Xbox One S Limited Edition 1TB Console
  • Limited Edition Creeper Xbox Wireless Controller
  • Minecraft digital code*
  • Minecraft Redstone Pack bonus content digital code*
  • Xbox One S Vertical Stand*
  • 1-month Xbox Game Pass trial
  • 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial

As previously reported, the Super Duper Graphics Pack will launch in Fall 2017. According to the store page, the Minecraft bundle can now be pre-ordered and will ship starting on October 3.
