Microsoft announces Power BI Embedded; allows for data visualization within apps

Today is the second day of Microsoft's annual developer conference Build and the theme of the day is the cloud. After some Azure news and announcing that Xamarin tools will be free, the firm has announced Power BI Embedded.

Power BI is Microsoft's data visualization suite of tools. Now, developers will be able to build those tools into their apps.

Previously, developers could use an API to push data to the service; however, they will no longer have to go through the Power BI app to access it. Power BI Embedded will also have a pricing structure to Azure, where you only pay for what you use (rather than buying a product).

This is going to be a very powerful tool for developers. The preview is available today and just in case you were worried about how much it will cost, it's free until May 1.
