Microsoft shows off Zoom.it

Microsoft has pulled a new product out of its development labs, Zoom.it.  The tool allows you to share high resolution web images easily and professionally.

Zoom.it will take any URL and convert it to a high resolution image using Silverlight’s deep zoom format and does a remarkable job at it too. With simple mouse movements you are able to move around the high resolution images will little effort.

According to Readwriteweb, “Zoom.it was created with Seadragon, the zooming technology acquired by Microsoft in 2006 that also contributed to discovery tool Pivot and 3D photo stitcher Photosynth.”

The tool will find great use for those needing to share high resolution images to multiple parties, which is important as different resolutions will display standard images differently.
