Nero 11.2.00400

Nero 11 empowers you to create and share your photos, music and videos like never before. The complete 360-degree experience offers easy-to-advanced video editing, innovative video file conversion technology for viewing movies on any device, plus burning and backup to support your complete digital life style.

Nero 11 was reconstructed to offer improved device support, greater functionality and substantial usability improvements. Its main applications now have consistent user interfaces and a new Nero MediaBrowser provides one-click access to the user’s photo, video and music library from every application. Easy-to-follow start screens offer at-a-glance overviews and video tutorials for each application.

Nero 11 also provides feature updates for Nero BurningROM and it is integrated with the Nero MediaBrowser. The SecurDisc Surface scan feature checks the surface of optical discs for errors that would impede the readability of the data. Nero Burning ROM lets you burn and copy your important data, audio and videos to CD, DVD and Blu-ray Discs, as well as, rip music CDs. Nero Burning ROM gives you full, customized control of your burning projects with features such as Nero DiscSpan, which splits oversized files and burns them to the number of required discs at once, plus encoding to convert saved audio files into other formats for maximum efficiency. Key security features such as password encryption for secure digital signatures of sensitive data and copy protection to fully control the security of your burned discs.

The integrated applications in Nero 11 can be used to:

  • Organise and wirelessly sync iTunes playlists, videos and photos between PCs and Android devices
  • Create impressive-looking videos and photo slide shows for sharing on Facebook, YouTube and Flickr
  • Provide full system back up security with just one click

Is this bloat still going?

Disclaimer: I have not tried this latest version...

Is there some proper software that replaces this? Stuff like ImgBurn is nice, but it doesn't burn self-composed CD/DVD's as well. In Nero that's just a matter of dag and drop.

CDBurnerXP Pro
InfraRecorder

I'd only be interested in Burning ROM. I had version 9, but the bloatware that came with it was too annoying to keep installed.

I tried version 10 and it was unstable crash-prone junk. Besides it's hard to justify paying for a burning program in this day and age when free programs like IMGBurn make them look like a joke.

Yep,
CDBurnerXP rocks, although I have stuck with version 4.3.8.2568 as anything newer phones home looking for updates automatically even if you change the settings to not do that!! I DESPISE that kind of behavior!!

I think the last time I used this bloatware Nero was version 6 something!!

Nero doesn't seem to know what it wants to be. It lost it's way many years ago and has struggled to be relevant since. All anybody actually wants is to be able to burn a music CD or put a film onto DVD. For a long time now, you can do that for free, so what else does Nero offer? A whole load of other programs, that also have free alternatives.

So what do you get for your £50, then? "Consistent user interfaces". Okay...
