Is there a new God of War game about to be announced? That's the speculation after Sony posted up a teaser image for a new game on its official Facebook page today. As you can see we should learn more about this mystery game one week from today on Thursday, April 19th.
So why do people this this teaser image is for a new game in Sony's Greek mythology based action-adventure series? Well the tone certainly fits that of a God of War game. Not only that, but the file name of the image includes "gow". Hmmmm....
While the God of War franchise has been released for other platforms, it is the three main games (the first two for the PS2 and the third for the PS3 console) that form the main cornerstone of the franchise, featuring the lead character Kratos as he battles a number of mythological-based creatures.
While on the surface the last game in the series seemed to (Spoiler Warning) mark the end of Kratos, a post-credit ending also hinted strongly that he managed to survive. In any case, it would not be a shock to learn a new game was in the works since the series has sold a total of over 11.5 million copies.
